Seriously bummed that Dunge won't be back. He was most definitely one of the highlights of this outdoors season.

The results won't show how good he was, there were a few motos he was in 4th or 5th but within sight of the lead

I am kinda too but it makes sense . Great year for him being as competitive as he was after being away that long .

Happy he’s going out without injuring himself but bummed otherwise. He was one of the cooler parts of this series.

What are they going to do for a celebration like at the end of Eli's video after e-bikes take over ? Have the sound of a real engine blaring out of the p.a. while they're twisting the throttle ?

If electric bikes stop them from pulling that cringey bullshit, all the better! 😒

Just saw the short interview with Decoster. He was asked what it was like to have Dungey back and he said “It was a lot easier and more laid back.” When asked if Dungey could race for KTM in 2023, he said no, he could come back as a test rider, but not as a racer. I found it really odd. It was ALMOST like he didn’t want Dungey there. I remember he begged Dungey not to retire and now it’s different. Very strange vibe he gave off.

Mad respect for Dungey this year. Fought to the very end like a true champion.

The guy is hands down a legend! Anyone who can take that much time off and come back and ride like that......pretty incredible what he did. He can walk away with his head held high. He doesn't have anything else really to prove. He made this incredible season just that much better to watch in my opinion. Thanks for showing up RD!

Agreed.

...when ebikes take over, I'm out. Might as well be watching drone racing. The sport will have deviated too far from what it was.

Sport isn't nearly as exciting with 4-strokes to begin with.

As for Eli. Imagine what levels he could have risen to had Star been in charge of racing and Eli was on Yamaha earlier in his career. His Yamaha tour makes his Kawi tour look almost sad. He was uptight, not having fun, never happy and he was a bit of a head-case. Totally different guy this year. Made me a fan of him.

Decoster is all about business. Emotion doesn't come into play. That's not a slam....just the way it is.

I'm just stoked on the fact that Dungey came back and didn't disappoint. He did better with 5 years off than James with 18 months off. That's a huge testament to Ryan's abilities. Just really cool to watch. Probably another reason this may have been the best season ever.

Would like to see it....but I'm not on any social media..... IG seems to be blocking non-registered users lately. Eff-em.

i would say this wasn’t dungeys decision… surely he asked for an amount of money that was based on his out-performance of their currently contracted riders and KTM declined. I get it business is business but having dungey there raising the professionalism of the team and performance of the bike as opposed to uncle ronnie 2.0 and his cowboy hat is immeasurable to a global corporation.

Uncle Ronnie 2.0....LMAO. That's a good one. I like AP....but man he has not delivered....especially given his "Schtick".

Spot on about Dunge representing the brand on the track....having him out there was a HUGE PR win for KTM.

Decoster has lost it, if RD wanted to come back why wouldnt you put him out there? The fans love it, he’s not embarrassing you, what more do you want? Seems he has forgotten the point of racing, make the fans happy. Plus, who is he going to put on that bike that will do better?

No. He's signed through 2023 with HRC Honda.

Too bad we're going to lose Dungey and Tomac, two of the best to ever do it.

It was an absolute pleasure to see Ryan back this year - I think just about every MX fan in every part of the world was cheering for him. He didn't do bad either, in fact it's pretty astonishing how good he was considering being away for 5 yrs. Highpoint especially was amazing. Catching and passing the heavy hitters in that 2nd moto like he hadn't been away at all. Looked strong in the early part of of Washougal too before his bike blew. Glad he's getting out (again) healthy though.

No one ever said anything about it, but has anyone ever wondered “who” the secret tester was a month or so ago at The Monster Yamaha compound that got everyone kicked out so no knew who it was? I had this sneaking suspicion it was Dungey, not Roczen. If so, I wonder what happened. Judging from interviews Dungey gave this outdoor season, he either had to podium to stay at KTM OR he wanted to go to a team that let him do SX and MX. I don’t think he wanted to do one or the other. He hinted he wanted to move to Florida and train for full time. I think he would crush it on the Yamaha.

Go to his wife's instagram and see her post about his comeback, right when it was first announced. She was NOT on board, and really sort of threw him under the bus in the caption. His interview now, at the end of the season, cites family and the commitment/time away and how it doesn't work. I think everyone is speculating for no reason here, he had his time racing and now his family is not cool with it anymore. That was pretty clear.

Yes, much better for business to have AP barely scratching the top 5 and Cooper “I get paid to race” Webb racing local races

Something happened with negotiations. Last week he told Matthes I’d like to be back SX and outdoors next year and is looking for a good bike. This week he says he scratched the itch and is all set. Either him not getting a podium turned him off or he couldn’t get a ride and is trying to play it off

That’s not it. She’s fine! If she was THAT pissed he wouldn’t have done it in the first place. Read PAST the 1st paragraph.
