TERRIBLE.
5 Minutes = only 2 to 3 laps.
I could be wrong..but I don't see much of a difference at that level of racing as far as overheating goes (bike/fuel boil or rider).
Making the day longer with longer breaks between moto's too, as later in the day it gets even hotter?
You'd think they'd want to get it over with early.
If they were really concerned, you'd think they would do qualifying on Friday at first safe light and race Saturday at first safe light. Basically wrapping up the day before noon.
I get that a lot of spectators might get pissed having to get up at 3AM but it seems like the best thing to do if over heating is truly a concern.
250 Moto 1 1:15 start
450 Moto 1 2:15 start
250 Moto 2 3:45 start
450 Moto 2 4:45 start
Which probably means Flo/Mav will cut to other programming when the race is supposed to end at 5pm and we will miss the championship deciding moto.
Pit Row
also maybe don't have 2 races at the same track in cali?
I won’t be surprised if there are casualties due to heat, despite shortened motos.
I'm confident that the TV coverage will be entirely fucked up... I hope I'm wrong.
It's not like they're suddenly throwing the 2 lap card out 5 minutes early.
I've hear marathon runners say that lots of them can last for 20 miles, its the last 6 that can kill you.
Quote from Steve Wise, "I would have won a lot more motos if we raced 30+2 instead of 40+2.
