Joined Vital just for this.

So. Since Haiden is responsible for anyone in his camp/team, and they circumvented the claim, per the rules, Haiden could be looking at a year vacation from competing in AMA events. Could you imagine if they actually enforced the rules? lol

After doing RBSR 2019, had a little taste being inside and it felt very swampy.

This just helps confirming that.

Looking forward to the interviews!

I don't know why either Deegan would give a flying ass if the bike got claimed. They're on the way to the big show and didn't invest a dime in the bike anyway. Star on the other hand was going to lose $ but there's more where that came from. Secret technology? REM gears? IP? They really think highly of themselves like nobody else has figured this stuff out. Let the kid have the bike, but no they had to be bigshots and cowboy the situation. I never thought I'd miss the FIM but jeez what a joke.

Really - once he's riding the Nationals would he really care about that bike. Doesn't RC have a championship RM that was covered in dust and probably doesn't run without a good going through? I bet he was into it when he got the bike, but years later who cares.

I don’t know much about Haiden Deegan, but I feel just a little bit for him in this circus. He’s probably more just trying to race the races

He did have some involvement when he went to Brennan's pits with his posse.

Guy claimed (errr tried to) deegans bike

Deegan and Cotter allegedly take him into a office and do the good cop bad cop routine on guy

Guy and engine builder gets called over to his trainers tent (Matt walker) to be harassed and screamed at by walker and Donnie Luce played role of quiet tough guy

His sponsor/dealer allegedly was threatened by someone that Yamaha would end their dealer agreement with them if guy went through with claim

Guy drops claim

Vital begins initial melt down phase

RacerX tried to blow it over as nothing in a racerhead article

Vital commences meltdown

Interview with guy comes out

Vital REALLY melts down, pitch fork and torch sales sky rocket (rightfully so)

some Sore Loser comes on here and calls guy lier without actually calling him a lier for 21 hours straight before sleeping

Vital continues to melt down

Engine builder for guy does a couple interviews

Vital melts down some more
Pretty sure Donnie Luce is like in his 60's. He's an older guy.
I think he's still the head honcho of Yamaha's amateur program.
But he doesnt strike me as the quiet tough guy type.
I could however see him going to someone and saying "we have a big problem here".

I was just stating the rules, and got downvoted for it. I had heard a rumor about Haiden going to his camp, but that's just that, a rumor.
We do know for a fact, that someone within his camp played a part in circumventing the claim, whether it be the Deegan's, Star Yamaha, Yamaha corporation, doesn't matter. Them changing out the motor with another teams motor is really fishy as well.

Yeah them swapping out the moto I heard that brought up I think I heard someone said that’s ok if you change it out but we’re tagging that motor you take out and the kid going to get that motor and the motor you swapped it for

Doesn't seem fishy at all knowing that someone in his class the next day could claim it. They obviously did not want to give it up to the point of being unscrupulous about it. Desperate to avoid another near miss, and Deegan didn't NEED that motor to compete anyway.

Probably swapped it out in case they got protested after his last moto. The tagged motor wasn't protestable at the time as it was probably too late after the race. Swapped it out with another teams motor so if they did get protested they would at least have plausible deniability that they knew of no wrong doing.

I just listened to the Brennan's interview on my lunch break.

1st off , I could stop shaking my head , but it also left me a little infuriated! I felt like that kid got bullied / shoved around and followed the rules , and the people with all the money shoved him into a corner. He even mentioned that all he really wanted to do is just ride a factory bike , and was even willing to sell them the bike back for exactly what he paid for it for. The engine builder " Derek " even said he wouldn't even open up the engine , and that's what they were worried about.

Through this whole ordeal , it sounds like it could of all been prevented in the end , if Haiden or Brian just said " Hey kiddo , why don't you come by our place and spin a few laps on the bike? "

I can't help but see all the wrong in the way this was all handled. And as far as Derek Harris goes.....I know some on here don't care for the dude , but I honestly dig the hell out of the guy. I've dealt with him a few times and he went out of his way to write some long emails and answered all my questions. Stand up dude in my eyes.

MXSports is under fire for actively creating/fostering an environment where a competitor could bully a kid in their offices over multiple days rather than leaving the rule enforcement detail to the AMA guys.
Exactly you would think LL's being the largest amateur motocross event on the planet things would be handled more professionally by MxSports & The AMA,
All eyes in the sport are on this event and also what happened.
Cotter trying to allegedly deter the kid from following through with the claim, to Matt Walker making violent threats is extremely ridiculous. And by reading racerhead last week...I got the impressions that DC just wants to downplay it like nothing ever happened. Which to me is unethical in a sense.

Bottom line... the kid made the claim and they took his money - bike should be his.
There shouldn't be any drama involved like someone trying to deter him or people making violent threats etc.
It's not just detrimental to the event...it's detrimental to the sport.

How any rider or team would ever want to work with him again in the future is beyond me. There are way too many other good choices. By default his own behavior in this incident will have black-balled him from working in the industry. You make your bed, you lay in it. Tough shit, Walker.
How anyone ever wanted to be involved with him is beyond me. Of all the walker interviews I've read/heard he's always came off as a serious bullshitter. I always enjoyed listening to whatever grandiose shit he'd have to say.

That would be circumventing the claim and Haiden would be banned from AMA competition for a year.

Per my previous post in another thread, the Morgantown Mafia isn’t just DC, Carrie is a big player behind the scenes.

I believe she was the one making threats to the Coopers about hosting a national at Cooperland in Oklahoma. I mean real threats that were never public. I heard it from the horses mouth 11 years ago.

I like DC, but I believe someone has his balls in a vice, between MAV and this issue, he has made some mistakes lately, either by his actions, or pressure from others…..

A rumor? Schoefield stated so in the interview so it's not hearsay.

I’m really curious about the national rumors. Cooperland would have been great to see a national at.

Great response by ping and gl. Does anyone think that maybe it was an illegal motor? Is that possible?

I would just like to point out:

Deegan bike claim: 67 pages across 5 threads

All-time championship battle between Tomac and Sexton: 4 pages

Tim Gajser wins MXGP title: Tim who?

Vital's a weird place man.
Maybe that’s because Tim,Eli and Chase have works bikes to but there not Amateurs and guess what the guys there are racing against have works bikes as well. Judge people all you want but this is some fu..ed up s..t and this is a platform where the establishment can’t cover it up. A 17 year old kid tried to stick it to the man and was shot down in flames, it’s compulsive viewing
