It’s funny, it looks like they posted a lot yesterday and last night, took an 8 hour break (presumably to sleep) and was right back at it this morning, and all day today. Gotta have some kind of connection, to be this obsessed with the situation and not be involved in any way would be insane.
I’ve spent a total of 2 days of my life on this site. Some of y’all have been here for literally decades.

Who’s the insane one?

Just stop, go away. We get it, you’re right and everyone else is wrong.
You’re obviously someone reincarnated… 🙄

Did you not watch this? The kid disgruntedly settled for riding a Star bike and a couple of motors.

No I have not. I try to avoid Cooksey whenever possible.

I figure if the Brennan kid had accepted a deal, he would have mentioned it in the interview he did. Really odd that he left this out since it’s significant.
Well you should watch it...Cooksey did well in this interview IMO and just let the Harris talk.

Right at the very start Harris was saying the reasons about there being no way in hell would he even try to reproduce parts from it and had nothing to do with it...and the way he explains time/costs...they are all pretty compelling reasons why he wouldn't be putting up money for the bike.

And the way Harris and Brennon interviewed...they were totally off script and the way they explained their version of events was pretty telling it was all based of real actual memories....unless they are both really REALLY good at lying, you can see why so many are kindof siding with the kid being shafted.

It was cheating the second they didn't just give up the bike. Forfeiting the bike to the claimant is in the rules.

So what you're saying is going forward if we completely stop replying to and quoting your posts you'll disappear?

Sounds like a deal.

So you go the full last 24 hours with the mantra of "assume innocent until proven guilty, don't jump to conclusions, we don't know the whole story, the kid could be lying, etc blah blah blah". And now you jump to the conclusion that the engine builder gave the kid the money. There is ZERO evidence of this, and you know it. Its nothing but pure conjecture on your part.

You literally gave all the other people the benefit of the doubt for the last 24 hours but the first hint of something that fits your agenda you pounce on it.

You either need to take the position of innocent until proven guilty or you don't. and you don't know where the money came from. You have however all along thought the engine builder had an agenda and and now your real position is coming to light. It was never about finding out the truth of the situation, it was about following what you thought the underlying reason was for claiming the bike. That's why you were salivating on the "where did the kid get the money from" the last 24 hours.

You really had pre-judged this whole deal from the get go, and the whole need more details to come out was just a front for what you really thought.

Well we have to assume you have zero evidence. Because you just told us that you are “just an MX fan” and not linked to the issue.

Ooor….maybe you are full of shit 😂

It can't be J Sloan because the posts have lasted longer than 24 hours.

Account created a day ago and already over 100 posts on the claim topic exclusively....has to be someone with skin in the game.

You are like the 3rd or 4th person out of the 4 or so claim threads I've seen say this and I don't know who this Sore Loser is but it is definitely not Engine Ice Dave.

The fact that the dealership still ended up dropping the kid and taking the bikes back blows my mind. Apparently Matthes put in a call and text to that dealership but no word back which I'm not surprised but would love to hear their reason for doing this even after the kid took back the claim. Unbelievable.

There is no way I would accept a motor or two as a consolation. I bet that f'ker would grenade at the most inopportune time. And I am not talking planned obsolescence.

It is in the mx factory Derek Harris interview on YouTube. Harris also explains some things like Matt Walker threatening to beat him up in front of the kid and the claim getting dropped a few minutes later. Sounds like they didn’t directly threaten the kid but just threatened someone sitting next to him. Harris also says you can buy all the parts and work to clone Ryder D or chance Hymas bikes. So apparently some factories don’t want to send unobtainium stuff to Loretta’s where it can be claimed. He also explains why while he would love to put a star bike on a dyno, he doesn’t have the resources to make money off of cloning the engine.

So kid drops the claim and then his sponsor drops him. That just goes to show that you better fully commit once you decide to do something like this because you are losing your sponsor as soon as you put in that claim.

If that is the case, the idiots at Yamaha, Star Racing and the Deegans are even dumber than I originally thought they were.

Have they not thought about the fact that if they "punish" the kid by stripping him of all of his sponsors and support he will have nothing to lose at that point?

Guess what happens next...

He goes to the next race and IMMEDIATELY claims the bike again and this time he doesn't back down because he has nothing to lose and the MX Mafia has no leverage.

No doubt there is a lot that no one on this board knows.
But there are a few undeniable facts.

A kid tried to claim a bike, completely and 100% within the rules.
He had some meetings with a few “industry guys”
He didn’t end up claiming the bike.

Seems like industry guys steamrolled a 17 year old kid acting 100% within the rules.
A few of them no doubt should be fucking embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

There is an old saying in the car racing world “there are no gentlemen in racing”
I would have hoped that was not true in amateur MX (no matter how serious it is these days)
But I guess the saying applies to amateur MX too.

Someone else said it best on here:

Claim, don’t back down, threaten to publicize every detail frame down and internally if any action is taken against him.

Kid lost the bike AND got shafted.

Could this be why Deegan went to Star instead of PC? Star promised to give him the pro stuff and Mitch said not until in the pros? Would like to hear Mitch’s take on this fiasco

If we consider this situation cheating does Haiden Deegan face consequences per the rule book? What's the penalty for not complying with a bike claim?

What a gut punch, take the claim back, no Star bike, and still lose your support. That dealer is a dick

What's the name of this fine establishment?
Ya, the MX world needs to know the name of the stealership that pulled the sponsorship so they can be avoided. Not cool on their part.

Created an account here just for this topic. Haven't ridden/raced since the YZ426 was the new hotness, but have watched MX/SX and pretty regularly listened to several podcasts for years.

My take:

Seems like this kid was pretty obviously intimidated and/or coerced out of claiming the bike; either directly, or indirectly (via actions) of the promoter, trainer, Brian Deegan, or Yamaha (or all of the above).

He may have denied that and dropped the claim, but it doesn't make sense to walk away from that bike for that price, especially when he would probably make recoup some cash via YouTube video monetization.

What Weege said does make sense with what I've heard on other podcasts (the Whiskey Throttle Show). Mitch Payton talked pretty extensively a year or two ago about how PC supplies parts for big name teams where they wouldn't want that info getting out. I'm not saying PC was supplying parts to Star, only that I'm sure that's common.

I doubt Star was running a full factory motor, given they're not running factory fork coatings, and the bike would likely sound audibly different to the trained ear.

If the part about the agreement is true, I hope Yamaha follows through and gets the kid a ride on a factory bike/a couple of motors.

Complete s*** show.

Deegan would be pro by then he’s in A class for one more race then pro at iron man.

It wasn't Deegan that forced the kid to give the bikes back even the engine guy said that . It was Yamaha Matt walker and the dealer sponsor was the one that finally made him do that

Kid lost his sponsorship too? That's a disgrace.

Some local Honda or KTM dealership should swoop in for the PR win. It's not like the kid is slow if he's racing with Deegan.

Looks like the dealership is Rallye Motoplex per past instagram postings.
