Deegan bike claimed? Everyone, please stop now

I guess to me it sounded like maybe someone was pulling his strings...some pulling for him to claim it and others saying it's a bad idea...

either way I doubt a kid in the 250B class got 17k rounded up on his own...hard to believe someone wasn't pulling the strings and others were warning against it.

Hard to say, it's just a bad look now either way...imo
You doubt a kid in 250B got 17k rounded up?
Dude, listen...first of all, there are numerous bikes in that class with $50k into them and you wouldn't even know the name of the kid riding it.
Second, yeah $17k is a lot of money, but that's not WTF money. I'm not trying to be demeaning but a lot of people can write a check for $17k no problem.
If I could get a Star 250 for $17k I'd write that check too!

One person in this thread just assumed that Star paid off the person that claimed the bike since the claim was later retracted and now everyone is claiming that to be factual.
These two guys need to learn what the word ‘alledgedly’ means..

You sure about that? Perhaps you should refresh yourself.

“Used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.”

You took these two comments:

“…did Star pay to guy who made claim?”

“…why the hell didnt the guy that claimd it keep it ? the big dogs can always pay there way out of it.”

And then you alleged Star paid them off when you wrote:

“Star didn’t want to let it go, so they alledgedly paid them off.."

You implied the posed scenario of Star paying off the person who made the claim was true, even though there was/is zero evidence. One person made an assumption and then you ran off with it and presented it as factual. How is that any different than what my original comment was?

In other words, using the term allegedly means you’re implying something is true even though there’s no evidence to support it and that’s exactly what you did. That’s “presumably” why the other poster was confused.
How can anyone “present it as fact” when using the word ‘alledgedly’?🤷‍♀️

yes the motor was swapped out, but the motor that was in the bike when it was claimed is the motor he would of received if the claim went through. thats how it was explained on the pulp show from wiege.
Agreed. The motor in the bike is what he would have received…. IF he’d have gone through with it. But then they dropped the claim. And...

But then they dropped the claim.

And so then the motor was swapped… presumably to get it out of sight..

Send me your address and I’ll get a dictionary sent for Christmas..

Presumably- used to convey that what is asserted is likely though not known for certain.

Alledgedly-used to convey that something is claimed to be the case or have taken place, although there is no proof.

I’ve not claimed anything as fact.
I’ve not made anything up- everything I mentioned is already in the thread before I got here.

I don’t know how I could’ve spelt it out for you any clearer. Using the term allegedly claims that what you are saying is true or “has taken place” even though there is no proof.

If stubbornness was a good quality you’d be the greatest person on earth.

No!

To claim something as true, you speak using fact to back it up.

When you dont have fact to back it up, you use ‘Alledgedly’ to say something that is Spoken to be true but is not proven to be.

It is different.
You’re not claiming something to be fact if you use alledgedly.

I'll take a shot at this. Cool

The story broke and then several vitards started making up shit to try to come up with whatever explanations they could concoct about what "could have happened". They weren't in the know at all.

Then Missusernameisavailable took some of the made up shit and added "‘alledgedly’ to some of it, which gave it life and an aura of credibility, which, in the opinion of some (including me), was wrong.

The implication of credible allegation is that someone immediately involved made a statement of wrongdoing against another. Examples: She was arrested for making false allegations against her former employer. Jane alleges that she was attacked by John.

Bottom line is that you probably shouldn't use allegedly unless the allegations are made by a viable/reliable source. In this case the Vitards are neither.

...carry on.

MSRP for a 2023 KX 250 is $8,499. So, if someone wanted Ryder Ds bike they could put a claim in for $16,998 for a factory PC bike. That kind of seems like a great deal if someone wanted a top of the line PC Kawi bike. Why does that not happen more?
Exactly what I was I thinking? The average Joe at Loretta's has at least $10k wrapped up into a bike without motor work..
Local pro's racing kyb, showa, wp,... has only spent 14k on suspension. Back in 2009 the suspension was the most expensive part on Clement Desalle his bike. Side note it was an Showa a-kit done by WV Suspension who also does the factory suspension from Showa in motogp, superbike and motocross. All those teams are based in Europe so that's easy for them (him) dunno with how many they work there.

If it is true that Thisusernameisavailable is a child molester then he is a sick son of a bitch and I hope they put him in general population where his fate will quickly be sealed by a crude shiv.

I mean, I clearly said "If".

What a fucking tool…if you suspect someone of cheating or using illegal parts as Kooksey eludes to you protest…claiming has zero to do with that…fucking idiot just loves to stir the pot and feed off of peoples stupidity….it’s like he read some comments in this thread first…

Oh wait, can we not just make things up and put allegedly at the front of it as a get out of jail free card?
