Was looking forward to seeing him back at the last few nationals but doesn’t look like we are going to now

Star just letting Colt and J Mart free from there contact seems odd. I wonder if Colt and Bogle will be on HEP in 2023 ?

He's on that Justin Bogle MX social security plan. Hang around with whoever will float his boat so he can pick up a few scraps and delay getting a real job for a couple more seasons

I was looking forward to seeing him race the last couple also. Would've been cool before he leaves the team/moves up. But I guess at this point, he had to know that he would be moving on, after this season(needing to move up and all.) So if he got a deal with another team, I'm sure he was going to jump on it. And makes sense to start his process on that team's bike. I wish him well. I really like his story and his path to get where he is at.

Never remembered a non-bankrupt team letting riders go before season end, without some law breaking or PR instance, before this season with Star. Only other one I can think of is James with JGR, anyone else?

Pretty sure this was the plan for awhile now just now officially announced. There is a reason they kept Romano and LeBlanc on the pro team.

Pretty sure Mathes hinted he is heading to the new team Mark Lane (83 compound owner) is setting up which will more than likely be backed by Rocky Mountain.

You wouldn't do the same thing?

Jeezus christ..... I think everyone posting on this board would probably give their left nut to be a Pro rider and you're gonna bag on the dude for trying to stretch that career as long as he can?

You must be fun at parties....

ML had this up on the homepage this morning, probably what the OP is referring to: https://www.vitalmx.com/videos/features/Colt-Nichols-Parts-Ways-with-Monster-Energy-Star-Yamaha-Racing-Heading-to-a-Brand-New-450-Team,21521/ML512,13480

I think it's commendable Star released these guys and they are all on good terms. Those guys put #1 plates on the hauler doors, that's the least the team can do for them. Most teams would be too insecure.

Star isn’t corporate, and seem ultra pragmatic. I can see them sitting down for “next year” talks that start as a plan together and end up in separate areas with Star thinking: why delay the inevitable and waste time and resources just to honor a piece of paper we both are going to end? Split now and they both can move on.

Corporations would NEVER do that. Too many lawyers and red tape to make a common sense decision…trust me.

Speaking of hanging around, someone needs to take out the trash.

I would swap my whole career to just be a struggling pro racing full time.

The new Rocky Mountain team is no longer....Actually the old partner of Butler was going to be the new RMATV team and Colt and Bogle were going to be on it but it is not going to happen now but you will see RMATV sponsoring another team

Perhaps it is, with the original people that were rumored to be starting it.

My guess is, we'll see a RM ATV/MC team of some sort form for '23. They are actively looking to be involved with a team again. When you have a title sponsor looking for a team, that's like throwing chum in shark infested waters lol. Maybe Bobby Hewitt???

Seems like when he was healthy he was faster than Christian Craig in supercross. I would not be surprised if he went to a factory team.

He's going to world supercross and will be a contender for the title

Posted a story on Instagram in black and white. Looks like Red Bull graphics. Still wearing a Monster helmet. O'Neal gear.
