Hoping Evans can keep building. Should be the strongest Aussie team for a long time. Probably since Reedy, Metty and Byrner?

Whoa, whoa-ee whoa. Pump the brakes folks.

Jett's first race on a 450 he will be thrown against the current best 450 racers in the world. Yeah, he's an amazing rider and I expect him to flash some brilliance but don't expect him to stomp the field. If he runs top 5 it's an amazing ride.

Gotta say I figured Hunter would be a better choice for us on a 450.

Jett is probably more likely to be able to pass up or even get a start on the little bike, and he makes fewer mistakes, which the 450 you can get out of using the motor...

he also raced a 250.. a bike he had been dominating on and riding everyday.
If jett was racing a 250.. i still wouldnt expect it, but wouldnt be shook if he did.

RV was a freak talent. And Jetts career path is going a similar way. but i dont expect Jett to go full RV and dominate Desnatons hahaha

Awesome weather would be great for a change.

The last non-mudder was 2016 in Maggiora.

Also stated 450 outdoors next year.
I have not heard any official announcement on that so sorry if this is well known.

Caught that as well. I'm assuming Kenny is out next year for outdoors.

What 450 riders do you think Jett would beat? There's gonna be Renaux, either Ferrandis or Febvre, Coldenhoff, possibly Herlings if not either Vlaanderen or Bogers, Cairoli and either Forato or Guadagnini, Sexton, Tomac, Seewer, Gajser, Prado, Fernandez, Jonass, Evans (although they'll be teammates so this one doesn't really matter) and a few more less noteworthy guys

Should be interesting.

I think thats the most exciting part.. To see where he fits in the peaking order with such little time on the bike.
Its crazy to put him in that top 10. but man.. if he rides well. be a pretty big statement.

Jett is the best in the world on a 250, he moves up to 450 and Hunter becomes best in the world on a 250.

How far off the Lawrence bros do you think Vialle and Geerts are?

The 5th placed rider on that list is another Australian, Caleb Grothues.

Five or 6 years ago he was arguably a hotter MX property than the Lawrences.

He went to Europe on an Australian Institute of Sport Scholarship and that 5th was probably his career high point.

BTW. Caleb has had some nasty injuries. Interview here:

He was back in action at this years Manjimup 15000 and looking good which was great to see.

I do get Jett being on a 250 at des nations.... what I don't get is 250 for sx... good god, it looked like he was racing B riders in sx this year.... for 2023 no team will put their fastest guy on Jetts coast.... meaning a massively boring coast to watch... and all the other fast 250 guys on the other coast

I've been saying he should race 450 at the 1st 4-5 rounds if it goes good stay 450. If it doesn't drop back and defend the 250 east title. But for this to happen chance hymas needs to race sx with no expectations.

And Vialle wasn't a phenom or "special", everyone was shocked when KTM signed him to the factory MX2 team and he eventually became a World Champion. Funny how things work out.

All I know is I'm even more stoked to be there in person now. 250 riders always seem to have 1 magical race as soon as they move up, Barcia battling Dungey, Savatgy almost winning Monster Cup, AC winning Monster Cup, and they almost always holeshot.

I'm gonna have a pretty big smile on my face Saturday at MXoN watching Jett, Eli, Sexton, Gajser, Cairoli, Febvre, and maybe Herlings showcase their respective styles around the monza turn.
