Does anyone know who will be Southwick’s guest commentator this weekend? It would be cool to have Ricky again for his expertise there or out of the guys that haven’t gone yet but were announced, Stewart would be a good one.

I'm not sure, but it could be RC and NBC for familiarity because of SX.

This is the last one on NBC with 450 moto 1 going first and then the remaining 3 motos on MAVTV/FloRacing.

Starting at 1:30pm eastern.

Rest assured they will get this done. That pre-recorded interview will air during a 4 way battle for the lead.

The person I would absolutely love to see as the guest commentator (Since he’s not racing right now) is the sand master himself - Herlings. I would love to hear his thoughts!

These guys prefer to be closer to the action than being in the booth allows.

And add JoJo in with them for some great Southwick stories.

I grew up listening to Poison and all the other 80's hair metal bands since I was about 5 years old because one of my older sister's was obsessed with that genre. Besides a bunch of Bob Dylan concerts my parents took me too, the first one I went to was the Motley Crue Dr. Feelgood tour. Tommy Lee had the drumset that spun upside down from the roof, it blew my 10 year old mind. Sitting in my sister's car by myself in the parking lot where the bands were staying until 4am not so much. I even got my concert tee signed by Vince Neil when I randomly ran into him at Pier 39 in San Francisco. I was totally in awe seeing him there and was speechless. He was cool though and so was the smoking hot blonde he had with him. Back to Bret Michael's he loves the sport and even had a track in his backyard when MTV cribs went to his house. Plus he nailed prime Pammy A. Legend.

That’s a great pic.

Even though he’s doing very well, I’m still so bummed about Doug’s last injury.

It was a double gut punch for me when both he and Blair Morgan went down with spinal injuries. They were (are) my 2 biggest heroes growing up as a New England moto/SnoX fan and racer.

It’s sad to think how much further along we could be with spinal research and recovery if we as Americans and especially our government spent half as much effort on that as we do on tearing each other down, pointing fingers and being greedy.

Sorry. Thanks for sharing the pic!

I wonder what your sister was up to with the bands until 4 am? Is she hot?

I now know exactly what was going on now that I wised up with age. She was all about the bassist from the opening band "Faster Pussycat", she was definetly a groupie in her younger days. She has a photo album filled with pics of her with tons of guys from the hairbands from the late 80s and early 90s. She ditched school her 10th year to go look for the G and R tour bus when they were in our town, sure enough she has pics with all of them minus Axl. My buddies were obsessed with her when we were growing up. So ya she had no problem getting access to the bands. Lol

When I lived in Kansas City back in the 90's I came across some friends who had just happened to have formed a very decent local band. They won every annual "battle of the bands" and were fun to hang out with. So I would chill with them for practice, partying, everyday life shit. They had very good stage presence, wrote great music and were always booked for shows. At the shows, I would help set-up, watch sound check, and then during the show keep the mosh-pit crazies from destroying stuff. I was lucky to meet a lot of hot girls because of them.
Finally, they hit the big time signing with Fred Durst and his label. Unfortunately, only Wes would be part of the new group with the label's new members. This left Jimmy Allen behind, who was really a great song writing talent.
They did have a few years of mainstream success, and I got to be backstage for several shows, even watching the crowds from backstage as they played. Got to see what tour bus travel with a rock band was all about as well.
Eye opening for sure.
But, alas, Wes partied too much, and that affected where this band could have gone.
Anyways it was a blast for me, and I'm so glad I had that lifestyle experience. Wouldn't trade it for anything, absolutely Great Memories.
They had the #1 rock song in the country for many weeks, "Blurry" They also had songs like "drift & die", "She Fuckin Hates Me", "Control", "Psycho"
The Band??
None other than Puddle Of Mudd

I was a huge Puddle of Mudd fan, "Control" was one of the songs I listened to on the way to the track to get me pumped up. So they signed with Durst and everybody but Wes got booted and they stuck him with a bunch of guys he didn't know? That's a pretty shitty deal and shitty that Wes took the money and basically said F You to the band that got him there.

Funny story about Limp Biscuit. My best friend used to share an apartment with his cousin and her friend in Hayward CA. Her and her friend would always go to shows in SF and get plastered. My buddy worked hvac and had to be in Monterey at 6:30am the next day. So anyways as he's sleeping the cousin and friend show up at 4am with some dudes, being drunk and playing music loud. My buddy got up and went into the living room and chewed EVERY person there out. The dudes left and he went work. That night he got home and found a purple top hat Kangol hat behind the couch. It was Fred's, he still has it and hates Limp Biscuit to this day. This happened a few month's before they blew up with their cover of "Faith."

Yeah a pretty bad injury. Open Fracture of the pelvis. It's pretty amazing how quick he was back on his feet. He'll tell you its no big deal but that's just the way he is. Mike's a beast. All those guys in the pic are bad asses as you know.. The 50+ Vet class in New England is no joke, especially when these guys are on the gate with you.. I rode with Doug last Sunday. He always amazes me.
