I’ll gladly pay whatever they want to charge for a commercial free broadcast.

If it has commercials though? I’ll find a bootleg stream.

Your move, MAVTV.

You guys do realize it's less than $2 per week, right?

They haven't had a press release saying no commercials, but DC has been directly asked and he said he did not know, and when the MavTV guy was on Pulp they danced around that question and kept talking about how far the TV package has come from being delayed a week to live, and that he actually prefers to watch the races at a sports bar vs streaming at home. Which seems to hint to me that they're going to be just using the TV broadcast on the streaming service, commercials during the motos and all.

If they just had commercials in between motos I'd be fine, but after having uninterrupted motos for over a decade, having to pay for a streaming service in 2022 and still miss racing to commercials is unacceptable to me.

I have a couple Sony smart TV’s that runs the Android TV operating system and I still haven’t seen MAVTV Plus as an option to download from the Google Play Store & also have a Samsung Smart TV that runs the Tizen operating system and also don’t see MAVTV Plus as a downloadable app. Any idea if either of these will be available before the nationals start? I use some streaming boxes as well and most are Android TV based. All options when searching for MAVTV Plus only come up with the Lucas Oil Racing TV app. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!
I also have a Samsung smart TV and I couldn’t get the app for it either. I happen to have an extra fire stick on a TV that I wasn’t really using so I moved it over to the Samsung and download the app there.

I believe we are all talking about commercials during the motos and not after they’ve concluded. Big difference. During the motos is a giant step backwards.

I agree with that. It would definitely suck to go back to commercials in the middle of the races.

I also signed up yesterday. I was watching some Midwest dirt track racing replays and I’m an hour into it and so far no commercials.

I wanted to watch a live race to see how well it streamed and how quickly they put the replay up but unfortunately we have a lot of rain and both races got canceled.

I’m hoping for better weather next weekend for my test.
This is encouraging. Still holding onto hope. Were these dirt track events originally aired live on TV or just the app?

Somebody sum up this thread for me, please. If I want to watch the nationals, Who am I paying, how much, and what rain dance do I have to perform? Oh, and is there a human sacrifice involved? Because I'll need a permit for that, and you know how difficult those can be to obtain. Once I've completed all the requirements, am I actually going to see the races, or will they get pre-empted by re-runs of the NCAA Women's Jr. Lacrosse finals from 2019?

I watch everything here at home on my HTPC. ( Basically a desktop made for my tv ) and am thinking of signing up on the Mav TV plus package today. $9.99/mo or the $99.00 for the entire year? Think I may just do the yearly package and be done with it. I'm just hoping that the stream is strong enough , so we don't suffer through a bunch of buffering issues.

If you only want to watch the nationals, the $6.99 monthly option will only cost you $28.

I have to look into it a bit more and see what other kind of racing is on there. I had Mav TV years ago when I had DirecTV , and remember liking that channel quite a bit.

From their website it shows Android TV as a platform which is what my Sony TVs run off of but I’m not showing the app in the Google Play Store just the Lucas Oil Racing App. Hopefully they release it to Android TV platforms soon.

Same deal here. If commercials will be shown as a cut away from the live racing, I will not pay for this crap. I'll just get mavtv on the cable box.

Peacock is canceled as soon as I watch the last SX. It can rot in hell without pro mx.

So with the nationals being broadcasted on MAVTV as they did last year, I’m confused as to why someone would spend any money on an app to watch it ? Is it that the people who are buying the MAVTV plus app , do not already have MAVTV already from their cable/ satellite provider ?

At first I thought that they would not be airing on the regular MAVTV channel, maybe someone else is thinking the same ?

I did some research on that app and read the comments. I’d advise anyone that is considering it, to read the reviews. If you have no other choice, then you’ll have to risk it. But there are a lot of complaints on the app. Just a heads up

The app works fine for me. Mavtv is not available so it’s the app or nothing.

If it doesn’t work good for the outdoors then I’ll just cancel it.

Yeah. No cable/satellite.

Dang I hope the app isn’t as bad as the reviews make it sound.

It is a lot better now. January 2021, they switched from Lucas tv, to mavtv+ and it was bad for a while. But I haven't had any issues using it in a while now

Not complaining about the price man, more just over being fed that our sport is growing after these moves are announced when it’s getting harder and harder to watch each year.

Someone is making more money each year perhaps with these partnership moves, however that doesn’t correlate to easier viewership for the average comsumer. Die hards will go the extra step. That’s about it though I’m worried 🥶

I have MavTV on my Spectrum cable package. Do we know if they will show qualifying on the regular cable feed or do you have to have + to watch qualifying? Also both motos are live on regular cable package right?

I do believe for qualifying you need MAVTV+, but all 4 motos will air live on regular MAVTV.

Thanks Mav. I will probably just stick with my cable feed then. Would like to see the qualifying but will be happy with all 4 motors live.

We’ve had commercial free motos for what, ten years now? How is it even a possibility that we are potentially looking at taking a step back in terms of coverage? MAVTV is owned by the title sponsor of the series, you’d think they’d be a little more in tune with what the core audience wants.

It will be a massive disappointment to have to go back to sitting through commercials during the motos.

Is there any difference between MavTV Plus and On Demand? They both look to be $6.99 each. I'd like to be able to watch qualifying and the races at any time I want.

I've got a Samsung TV and in Australia they have something called "Samsung TV Plus" which has a bunch of random channels that are just free if you have your TV connected to the internet. It looks like MavTV is one of the channels (channel 1660).

From what I can see it looks like the same goes for Samsung US - TV Plus

That’s Mavtv Select. It doesn’t have the same shows.

What they are meaning is you can watch the show Live or later On Demand.

It’s all built into the app.

MavTv and NBC have always had commercials during motos.
Especially with a few laps to go when things are usually shaping up before the finish.

More than likely I'll just set up the DVR and watch 30 minutes delayed, to ff pre race fluff and commercials, or later in the evening.

So if the app is planning on showing practice/qualifying, and it's anything like the RDL SX disaster, I'll pass.

After saturday I'm ditching peacock.
And probably won't renew it next year.
RDL just isn't worth the money.
