So happy for Aleix, guy deserves every bit of it. Overshadowed by his win though is the ride Marco Bezzecchi put in. 17th to 9th in dry conditions on a year old bike is incredible for a rookie.

The field is stacked this year. There are multiple manufacturers that can win every weekend. I have not placed a bet yet I can’t call anything this season Laughing

Factory Ducati Riders not looking too good this season. Neither in the top 10 in points. Miller especially bad. Wonder what's up?

Not everything was invented by Valentino.

Kevin Schwantz was doing this at least 3 decades ago. I would have thought even young Americans would be aware of his 'gymnastics' . First time I saw him doing it, was in his epic Trans Atlantic fairing bashing battles with Wayne Rainey.

And others, well, well before him were doing so. .

Hell I've got a biography of Sammy Miller, one of the most famous, winningest Trials Riders of all time, with pictures of him Road Racing in the mid 50s (on a Mondial, I think) with his leg off the peg in a GP. Way back in the 50s and even earlier, many riders, especially in Britain, split seasons into that of Road Racing, and Trials / Scrambles. And, they applied techniques from one to another.

A leg is a hell of a counterweight, and quite an 'air brake'.

Anyway, a Fantastic result for Aleix and Aprilia - I hope there is more to come for them !

Holy s__t!!! Ducati's take the top five spots in qualifying for the COTA race tomorrow. Bastanini falls down remounts and still gets fifth on the year old Gresini Ducati. Wow. Quatararo in 6th followed by the 2 Suzuki's Marc Marquez & Nakagami on the Hondas. Shaping up for a real battle tomorrow.Cameron Beaubiea(sp)used a little home field knowledge to grab pole for Moto 2. Nice to see an American in the mix.

Absolutely correct in your statement. It was also used quite a bit by flat trackers dabbling in road racing as well due to that fact they didn't have that full on road race style. Schwantz learned it from someone else who was a big flat tracker. This rider is also where he got his number 34 from. Lil trivia question anyone know who that rider was.

Reason I mentioned Rossi on it. Is mostly because he made it the staple it is today in motogp. Kinda like Bubba and the Bubba scrub. We know it was done in the past to some extent but Bubba like Rossi made it the it a every rider, every race technique.

Was cool to see MM25 hand out the second place trophy .. the announcer presented him as a 2 time MX2 champion but he could have mentioned he won an SX last night instead..

Yeah that was a great race no runaways went down to the end for the podium.

Couldn't believe Marc and his charge through the front especially after his last disaster.
Wonder what happened to him on the start line, bike was cutting out bad lucky he didn't get rammed from behind.

I remember Schwantz used to extend his long skinny leg out but never off the peg like Rossi. Been following the sport since the 70's and Valentino was the 1st to actually have his foot off the peg in the corner flat track style as far as I could remember.

First Euro race and Quateraro, the only one who can ride the Yamaha, runs away with it. Good job for Zarco in second place and Espargero on the Aprilia in third. Once again no result for Miller on the factory Ducati too bad he took Mir on the Suzuki out with him or the top three would have been different. No wonder Ducati is going to fire him at the end of the year. Rins and Quateraro tied for the championship lead. What an incredible season so far.

Man that Moto2 race was bananas, kind of BS that they kept the 5 minute rule there, I guess they have to to avoid looking like F1 did last year. Congrats to Joe though! To finish first you must first finish, credit to him for keeping it on 2 wheels.

The Yamaha definitely isn't as good as it was last year compared to the rest of the field, Quatararo is amazing for making it work anyways.

Yes glad Joe finally got one. Too bad for Cameron though, qualified 2nd and was in third when the yard sale happened. Considering how many riders went down sticking to the 5 minute rule sucked.

Yeah, interesting race, alot happened for joe to win. Nontheless it was pretty inspiring to hear the star spangled banner. First time I haver heard it in GP.

Fabio looked like 2021 fabio. Not sure if they found something with the bike or it was just a perfect recipe of track and weather.

Another podium for Aprilla and he had to pass Miller and Marquez to get it. Second in points. Fabio is looking good. Really like having six competitive brands on the grid.

Another top 10 for Joe. Saw Cameron retired, residual from ladt weeks crash maybe?

Just saw that. What a shame. I've been pulling for them ever since Mir won the championship couple years ago. With their newfound speed this year I had high hopes. I hope this doesn't mean that they're stopping development on this year's bike. This season could turn into a Ducati parade. Mir to Honda next year in place of Espargaro Rins, who knows.

Bummer been a Suzy GP fan since the Legend--Barry Sheene days. In fact I liked ol Barry more than the brash American King Kenny of the time. Similar to DeCoster vs Hannah. Class vs Prick

Randy Mamola also had some good years, sad to see them go--beautiful machines....Sad

I don't see anybody going to honda. Honda can only be ridden by marc it seems like. He has such an untouchable style, I don't see how they would take a younger rider right now.. honda is such a head scratcher.

Sucks to lose suzuki, but they never had a title sponsor the last couple years. probably got too spendy for them. Hopefully Aprilia can make up the loss of bikes.

They've changed the Honda this year. It doesn't even suit Marquez but that's because they've changed it to be more like other bikes rather than the way Marquez likes it. Everyone on that team is having to adapt to the new style. Losing Suzuki will be a blow to the series. With only one mark left in the series running the inline 4 configuration, (and not doing too well at that), it is in danger of becoming copycat V4 formula. With Suzuki gone you're right, someone will have to step up to supply bikes in order to have a decent starting grid. Dorna has chased Kawasaki, BMW, and now Suzuki from the series I'd hate to see Yamaha join them.

Ok finally got to see the Moto 2 race that Joe Roberts won.

Hey I've been busy--got married 2 weeks ago and had a lot going on. Smile

As others have said, CRAZY RACE!
Bummer for Cam, but great for Joe and the USA. It was so great to hear the Star Spangled Banner played on foreign soil again--been way to long.

Crazy times right now. Suzuki leaving, Yamaha and RNF may be splitting too. It sounds like Aprilla wants a Satellite team and may be taking Suzuki’s spot on the grid. What about RNF? What bikes will they run? Surely Rins and Mir will find spots but what happens to Toprak now? Also all the other guys that are not signed? Going to be an interesting rest of the season.

How about American racing moves up and sign Joe and Cam? That would be freaking Awesome! Yea I know, that will never happen.😂

Almost a Ducati sweep but not quite. Once again Factory Ducatis beat by the satellite team. Bastianini is the Beast. Miller in second Espargaro on the Aprilia in third. Quatarero fights the good fight for 4th on the underpowered Yamaha. Lots of crashing in this one. Besides Bagnaya, both the Suzuki's. Rins with a 125 mph get off through the gravel trap, amazing he wasn't Injured. Binder the only KTM to finish. Without all the crashes Honda probably wouldn't have made the top ten. Not terribly exciting racing but the championship leaders are separated by four points.
