Has this been talked about? After finishing 7th, he didn’t go to the podium and now he’s being fined $1000?

Also, Mookie was fined for taking a leak between some tractors.

https://www.vurbmoto.com/malcolm-stewart-and-eli-tomac-fined-in-foxboro…

I can kind of understand the issue with Mookie, and maybe they’ve been warned, but fining these guys seems a bit ridiculous to me.

So the rule says 5th and up to the podium, OR other riders may be directed? (At the discretion of race officials?)

Who wants to go to the podium to talk about their 7th place finish?

I'm sure he didn't WANT to, but his finish was definitely out of character for him this year, and I for one would have been very interested to hear what he had to say.

"Eli, take us through why you decided to back it down and stay safe to wrap up the championship for next weekend!"

Seriously, what were they going to ask him? I would have told them to piss off too.

Yeah you're not wrong, fair enough. If I was Eli I would have gladly taken the $1k fine as well.

Dean Wilson’s uncle knows a little bit about that… we were all tailgating at SX back in ‘05(ish) and he took a leak next to the truck and a cop on horse wrote him up for in-descent exposer and had to register with that sex offender site. He lives in Canada, but this was a pain in the ass for him to deal with…

Certain states is within X feet of a school. There was a guy who lived across the elementary street in my town and got drunk with his buddies and took a leak in his front yard, neighbor called for the noise and when they were rolling up they saw him draining the main vein. Had to register after that, still lives right across the street from the school.

Had a buddy that happened to when we were at the bars one night. He couldn't hold it, pissed behind some bar and a mounted cop rolled up on him.

From the looks of instagram, Eli had a birthday party for his daughter to attend. Probably the reason he backed it down in the race and got back home on time in 1 piece.

Eli to Feld after wrapping up title in Denver: Sorry, I won’t be in SLC as I need to get ready for the World Supercross Series. Thanks for the memories.

Anyone with half a brain could've deducted themselves why Tomac rode the way he did. They don't ask basketball players on the losing team why they intentionally fouled the other team when they were down 2 points with 4 seconds left, because the viewer is expected to understand. Just a waste of time.

GTFO man, most in the industry were wondering what exactly happened with his ride.

Not challenging for the lead after the stall is one thing, but sliding back to 7th is not the same thing.

I don't think any one is really wondering why.

I mean he was battling. Almost gets cleaned by Anderson, stalls, and then thinks to himself "Oh yeah, I have a 45 point lead in the championships."

Not really confusing, especially when you consider how gnarly the track was,

How funny would it be if after wrapping up the title he skips out on the podium just to do it. And throws out a $1000 in ones strip club style on the way past the podium.

He's probably talking about JT and Matthes giving Tomac a hard time for slipping back. Seemed to me like he just didn't want to take the chances, no shame in playing it safe and bringing the championship home next week in Colorado.

“It was a tough main event,” said Tomac. “I was up front early but stalled the bike and then I got shuffled back a little bit and ended up just kind of playing it safe. It was a tough track, one of the tougher ones that we’ve had to where the jumps and the bottom of the transitions were just really tough to ride, period. It was a track I didn’t want to take a whole lot of risk on. We’re still in a really good spot for points, and we’ll go clinch it next week in Denver.” From RacerX

Agreed with everything except almost getting cleaned. That was a textbook pass with zero contact.

Yeah that was a great pass from Jason. I seen the pass coming a mile away that he was going to take that inside.

I guess he could have just said "no comment" and that would have sufficed.

Finally you can piss alongside the highway in Texas now as long as you are trying to be discrete. .

I got fined $51.50 for it in the early 80's.

Oh i agree it was a perfect pass.I meant it more in relation to how Tomac, with a points lead, likely felt it was close and he did not need to put himself in that position to win the title.
