Why is everyone saying to just double it if they can't do it, have you not seen enough guys get landed on when someone near the front misses a triple?

I'm all for leaving big whoops, tough rhythms etc but you can't actually think it'd be a good idea to have half the field doubling that triple. I would have bet money that'd be a guaranteed red flag first lap, either from someone landing on someone, or someone casing it and collecting everyone behind them.

Seems like they aren't really having issue getting over it. Bogel did a nac- nac on it later. Just miss timing it their first runs?

All season, Vital is claiming "deathcross" and complaining that the majority of factory guys are out injured. Then, when they tame down a clearly dangerous obstacle, all those same factory riders are being called pussies. The irony is comical - I'd like to think these professionals know what they're talking about.

They've all done way bigger jumps, hell the Unadilla Skyshot has been a rider favorite jump for years, and it's right around the same length. But there's a huge difference between a well-built lengthy jump and an unnecessarily huge jump that shoots you to the moon with a steep/small landing, all while being right out of a weird radius corner

That was over the double after the whoops that they were riding around. Definitely the biggest double directly after a whoop section I’ve seen.

So you’ve never watched SX when 125s raced? Very few were hitting the triples every lap of the main

Crazy how it wasn't just 250 riders coming up short. To me, and im no pro rider, I would much rather OJ the hell out of it and let my $10k suspension soak it up over casing it and crashing.

Hitting the ~100ft double at Grays Harbor I just aimed to OJ it instead of coming up short and dying.

It’s a speedway track it should have bigger jumps. 125 feet is too far if that’s true. 100 is okay.

Looked to me like Hunter never had the drive to go for it. I have mixed feelings. On one hand I see darn near everyone doing it cleanly but a couple guys are in that "oh shit" zone upon take off. Maybe #2 and #3 should just be filled in to give them a big table to land on if they short it. I've really never understood why you would build something that big and not make it a little more forgiving by doing that.

This is one guy at a time, it would be an issue with a group and some double and some triple and start landing on guys. I appreciate challenging the riders. But 100 feet is still a hell of a triple.

Holy shit. Did they let Jody Wiesel design the track?
This smells of Press day bullshit to get clicks and fans to the race..

You are correct about Jody, they built this completely insane jump at the last Glen Helen national and got Josh Grant, who will jump anything, to clear the massive leap for Press day.

The outcry from the other racers was heard and they shortened the jump, but they made the jump insanely big in the first place to attract casual fans who only care about big air via splashing it all over social media in the week prior to the race.

Bob you are talking out of your ass.

You know all the members here can easily jump that triple on their X-Box and PS5.

...all the guys that post here are warriors, man, haven't you learned that by now?

I remember watching races where 2-3 guys were the only ones capable of doing certain obstacles. If you are having trouble with a jump then tone it down and ride within your limits. Or just bitch about the track until they bulldoze it so everyone can do it 🙄

Same one. Wageman, Hunter, Bogle and others cased it or crashed. Word is they are changing/shortening that jump. It is massive.
Barcia was overjumping the shit out of that thing..... makes me wonder how Bogle on a fooo-fiddy came up short... did he try jumping it from the inside or something??

Saw hunter go down harddddd....but most of the 250 guys, even mid-pack guys were getting over no problem...

I definitely don't disagree

I rode the early morning press session. Benny hit it first but we all did it with with no real problems. A few 250 guys cased a little but no crashes I believe. My stock Kawi exhaust had no problem with it and it’s a fun jump.

It won’t be fun first lap of an actual race as it’s the second section of the track after the start. Should have a mandatory single then double the first lap until everyone gaps out a bit.

Lots of quads done by Stew that I made the conscious decision not to do 🤣. Those guys just mistimed it and jump gnarlier things in rhythm sections all the time

and there ya have it.

We have an obstacle that all can do (as is always the case) but we have a pro (above saying) "We jump worse stuff all the time" and instead the track crew rushes out to chop it down. WEAK.

The landing just needs to be rolled off instead of being so steep. I hope they don't just make it a double

If they flatten out the landing too much it will be a harder impact even when you land in the sweet spot. Needs a certain amount of steepness to be smooth on landing and not harsh. That’s how jumps break wheels

Yeah, let’s build a huge triple like that with the current injury rate. Good idea

This is Supercross. Toughest tracks with the best riders. They can choose to jump it or not.
I'm tired off all these "deathcross" discussions....people want to complain the tracks are so lame & cookie cutter but once an obstacle is put in that can really separate riders you'll still get complaints. Riders will always push the limits and injuries will always happen. If we modify the tracks based on injury rate the last few rds will end up being a track full of rollers and tabletops.
Lol this thing doesn’t make sense at all. Zero margin for error. What is the benefit of this thing? Normally i dont care for the tracks at all, but this one doesn’t make sense

Watch from 5:10 and give me 3 reasons why they should let this thing there unchanged for race day. They already case the living sh** out of it on press day. Now imagine hitting it every lap in your heats, LCQ or a fully rutted main event. You see Craig, Lawrence and 2 other guys having major troubles with it in a 45 second sequence. Lol these guys are gnarly and people still complain about them being pussies

Cool for a buttery, or Hodges video.
Not so cool for a professionalrace course that's supposed to stand up for a 15, and 20, minute main event.
Yeah, most can nail it during a practice session while fresh.
But half, if not more, of the guys will be doubling and rolling out halfway through their mains.

Glad to see Phil ant Jett stop to check on Hunter.

Why does a triple have to be tripled? Nothing wrong with doubling it…separate the riders…makes mistakes and line choice in the prior corner more important…which makes for better racing…

Just need to make a long landing next time instead of a normal 65' triple landing.

Name that one The Lawrence Leap lol.
