Be nice if somebody could post Scottie's story from 'the day'. I looked through the HOF and didn't see it there, but feel it should be!

Correction: on page 2. And it's a link to it. Slipdog posted.

Life's circumstances can be difficult to understand and comprehend. I understand his decision and hopefully there is more to "being" than this earth. Hopefully he is at rest and and railing berms in the loamiest dirt known in this universe. Eternal Peace.

Man…hard to even comprehend that someone is suffering so badly. This makes my heart hurt. I’ll miss him. Truly miss him.

May God bring peace to all who loved him. He is finally free of that chair…and is no doubt he is pain free and running like the wind right now. His current joy brings a smile to my face this morning.

Nothing else to add, just wanted to pay my respects. RIP Scottie. The amount of pain you endured, you have the heart of a fighter. And a true love for the sport of motocross.

Dougie and O/C were two of the first people I interacted here that made me feel like I was just talking to a buddy. I miss my convos with Dougie about MotoGP and O/C general demeanor and wealth of knowledge. RIP

I’ve always been one of those people who felt suicide was selfish, taking the “easy” way out. As I’ve grown older I realized how wrong that thinking was.

Scottie fought so hard to get relief from his pain and it continued to get worse. I cannot imagine what he endured over the years; I know it is something I could have never dealt with as long as he did. He was a fighter and what he did in the end roof great courage. We all need to look at it as he fought as long as he could and now was the time for Scottie to finally be at peace. As hard as it was to wake up to this news, I totally support his decision. Our thoughts/prayers should be with his loving family/friends today. Scottie touched a lot of lives and he will be missed 🙏

I only know him from reading his posts on here over the years. But he sounded like a great person and I am happy for him to be pain free and been able to make such a tough decision with the support of his family. I wish that he had been able to have a different outcome , that there was some other way to have eased his pain . But it sounds like he tried everything and more. I hope his family and friends can find some peace in knowing he is no longer in pain. I came to check and see how things were going and my heart sunk as I read through the comments. I was happy for him to have not been stopped after he made his choice and I hope he made a smooth and peaceful transition over to whatever is next.
