Oddly enough, Sexton slamming his head into the ground so often and not being totally out is a pretty good advertisement for that helmet. Dude went face first into the face of a jump and wasn’t knocked out. Helmet must be pretty good, or the dude was gifted with awesome meninges.

Agreed. Good helmet. Hoping he’s just banged up and nothing is broken! Didn’t look like he was favoring his shoulder at all? Definitely going to be sore. Hopefully there’s some news by Monday on the riders

Helmets do not prevent concussions.

Remember, a concussion is caused by your brain banging into the inside of your skull. No helmet can prevent that from happening.

MIPS is designed to prevent rotational neck injuries.

Pretty sure then do/can. Obviously not 100% of the time. But they certainly have.

If an independent lab did some standardized testing and published the results. But someone's gotta pay for it.

A brain needs to be accelerated to a certain amount to hit the skull (and get a concussion). The shorter the distance your head is slowed down from a certain speed the higher the acceleration. If you hit your head on the ground from 30 mph without a helmet the acceleration is very high, bc there’s only skin between the ground and your skull. With a helmet you have about 1 inch of foam that gets crushed which reduces the acceleration dramatically. So to say a helmet does not reduce the chance to get a concussion in an impact is wrong.

There’s no point in arguing if you only deal in absolutes..
It’s like saying a bulletproof vest does not prevent a bullet getting through.
If you hit your head hard enough or get shot with .50 cal, yes, no helmet or vest will save you.
