Did Anderson come really close to taking his head off when he jumped over Sextons head? Hard to tell from the camera angle.

I thought for sure Anderson was going to land on his head or neck region. I'm glad Anderson stayed in his race line and didn't slow up for a flag ( not that one was waved) that could have been catastrophic for Chase. Speaking of..
.any word on Chase's injuries? Hopefully just a concussion.

I bet he bent his front wheel landing from the quad and then the bent wheel caused the strange looking front wheel push.

He bent the wheel pushing it sideways and knifing it into the face.

That sounds about right. Hard to believe he would fold the wheel in the turn.

Man, that was close with JA.

Watch the replay, and factor in what forces it took to throw him all the way to the next jump…plenty of force to taco that rim.

I just watched in slow motion. You’re right. It was turned sideways when he hit the bottom of the jump and it folded the wheel. Wild.

Same with Cianciarullo. Fast but fragile. Sexton looked like his left arm was screwed up and probably has a concussion the way he was acting while trying to get back on his bike.

Hmm, I just watched in slow motion as well and I thought he bent the rim pretty bad on the quad landing, and then the knifing the front end into the jump just finished it off. I could swear it looks like the rim was bent as F coming out of that rut before the jump. Maybe its just the camera angle or dirt on the tires making the wheel look wonky..

Taco'ing a wheel due to tucking the front end in a corner is a lot of force.

That rung his bell pretty good. Even walking off with the medic he had sea legs. Hope he’s ok, and doesn’t rush back to it.

It is hard to say. The way the front pushed exiting that corner sure looked reminiscent of what a flat front tire tends to feel like. The damage to the rim from that sudden grab into the face of the jump is questionable when compared to the many different high impact hits we see front wheels take when bikes go flipping through the air in crash situations, often resulting in wheels that don’t bend just flex of course. However, if that tire was flat then the rim would obviously have no cushion against the force.
Either way, for a guy who puts in the laps that Sexton does, that was a very freak front end tuck on an exit. I tend to lean towards a bent wheel or flat occurring before the big hit the wheel took. What a damn bummer. Hope he feels good soon and I am sure he will get the top step he deserves.

Anderson certainly was close to taking Chase out. Sexton's wheel tuck incident was violent, flagging was atrocious in that situation. Sexton's crew really needs to evaluate him closely this week, he was a mess as I watched the whole thing from the stands in front of me. Hope he recovers. It was gut wrenching.

My guess would be he broke a spoke or two off that quad, then the knife finished it off. I hope he’s ok, but that wreck looked gnarly.

When it happened on tv, it didn’t look like he hit his head at first. I thought it was more arm or hip than head. I hope he’s ok!

It was probably a good thing that the bike wouldn't roll. He sure wanted back on it.

The mistake wasn’t the front end tuck everyone is talking about. If start from the beginning of the crash he is washing the front end cause it didn’t find the rut. When the wheel gets to the jump face it’s gets traction again causing the front to tuck, his suspension bottoms and then all the force goes laterally into the wheel and unfortunately into chase rag dolling into the table

Him trying to get back on his bike reminded me of JS7 at Daytona.
