Just a little news sharing... 8 YEARS AGO, Chad Oulson was shot dead in a movie theatre by a former police captain in Wesley Chapel, FL for texting during previews...

Chad was a local Florida moto guy in the Tampa area who worked at SKY Powersports as the F&I guy.

Justice will finally be served after years of delays for the retired former police captain

tl:dr - Dude was texting the babysitter during previews, old man, former police captain started acting an asshole, they argue, he throws popcorn and old man shoots him. For 8 years they've been delaying the trial for one reason or another, lots of favoritism of the former police captain as the surviving wife (and victim, shot in hand) has had to wait 8 years for even a trial. Now trial is finally beginning.

I hope you’re right about getting justice. I live in Tampa, the jury was seated last week and the trial starts today. The jury has a NRA member and some concealed carry holders. How will they view things? Will they be sympathetic to an old man who claims he felt threatened?

As someone who holds a concealed carry permit and firmly believes that responsible citizens should be able to own and use firearms, that old man overstepped his boundaries 100%.

He should have been in prison many years ago and left with only the thoughts of the day that he took another father/husband/son away from his family forever.

Ditto. I'm an NRA member and Concealed weapon permit holder. Based on what is known about the situation, I'd hands down support conviction. The kid was unarmed, period.

To be honest, most CCW holders are more educated on when its appropriate to use force than non-CCW members. I would expect them to be more critical of the police officer in the given situation.

i dont own guns but i support the 2a ...this guy was in the wrong 100%.

if the victim lunged at him with a large knife or some sort of weapon and assaulted him i could understand "standing his ground" but having popcorn tossed at you is not a reason to kill someone

I had the EID username and the Flarider user name, that's all.

I have a good relationship with my former company so your assumption there is incorrect, I simply no longer work there.

Mistakes happen, as is seen here, because as you can see, I am now logged in as Flarider.

ML512 has been busy since his taking over, I made the mistake of a third user name (while this one was in time out), pissing him off, understandably.
