When I landed, I didn't see Shane's bike anywhere, and then I see Damon slow to a stop at the bottom of the landing [it was a long landing that came off the old dressing rooms for the players] and Shane hopped off. Craziest thing that has ever happened in SX.

I just remember it being really dark in the back. all the tracks were choppy and steep back then....this one was just choppy and steep with poor lighting. lol.

Could you post more 90,s 125 races please? There is not that many on yt. Those tracks where more technical than todays and the steep jump faces looked really fun. I never saw MC so tired after a race. That track and the heat must have been tough. See the nac nac then he stalls it in the whoops, in the heat race. Fires it up then jumps real quick into the corner. Amazing

I have seen the clip, but not on vhs... It was used in an advertisement for ax or sx for a while yearsss ago.. When I saw the clip, I could not believe what happened... Dude took off a jump on one bike, ended up landing double up, on another... Insane...

To all of you who “think” you’ve seen this video clip. It doesn’t exist, or Damon and Shane would’ve seen it too.

This has been beat to death...
The only footage known to be caught on video, was Damon pulling over to let Shane jump off his bike. The actual video of Shane flogging in the air and landing on Damon’s bike has never surfaced.

Either post up the video, so you can prove me wrong, or stop posting that you’ve seen it, since it doesn’t exist !

Jack Trittler has put up a cash reward for anyone having a clip of it, I’ll gladly put you in touch with him to collect it.

Ever since the internet and MX forums first began, people have been talking about “finding” the footage of this event, and it’s never surfaced. The riders involved have have gone on record more than once, stating to have never even seen footage of it. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s not gonna happen, guys.

I was wrenching for a friend Justin McMurrich in the 125 class and I saw it when it happened. I remember Shane landing on the back of Damons bike and he had to reach up and pull himself the rest of the way on the bike. I couldn't believe what I had just seen. Shane came up afterward and sat next to us up in the riders area after the 125 main and his chin was bandaged . I asked him if he was alright and he said yeah, just banged up my chin. They used flat semi trailers as the ramps up onto the locker room and for the landing going back onto the floor of the stadium .The riders meeting was held inside of the locker room. There was a room to the right of the one the meeting was held in, which is the side the bikes were landing on. They had the ceiling supported with a grid of vertical supports from the floor to the ceiling to help the roof survive the beating of the bikes landing on it.

I'm positive I've seen a replay solely showing the stop and Trittler's dismount. I remember Dave Despain narrated the incident after the fact.

True, no traceable video exists. Sideshow sports commentaries were seldom saved back in those days. I worked for CBS. I'm old. I stumbled upon this forum trying to find the video myself. I have not discussed this subject for over 25 years until someone brought it up reminiscing.
