My older bro raced that day, he fell and the bike laid down before him and he came falling down on it and took a footpeg to the "taint"!! He did not walk right for 3 weeks...and we got it all on video LOL

Racing the 80’ 125G in 81’. First race spring 81’ on 79’ YZ100F. First bike 75’ YZ80B Mom found at garage sale, I had half the $ from walking beans and detasseling-she covered the other half= Thanks Mom!

My pops raced that day as well. 125 Novice I believe. He still has the picture framed of him jumping down that. I think it’s still his favorite picture of himself on a bike.

Not the oldest but March 2001, on the old start by the barn at budds creek. First “real track” I rode on. Only rode friends private track and field at my parents before this. First race was 1 month later. Work boots and jeans 😂. Pretty sure HJC sold a million of those helmets

I know I have an older film print of myself in the mid 90s on an '88 KX80 somewhere, but this will have to do for now. 1992 RM125 around 1999 or 2000. Either first or second trip ever out to Dove Springs, CA. This area isn't too far off the road and still looks exactly the same. These early trips to the desert are what made me fall in love with dirtbikes and is still the first thing I think of if anyone asks me how I got into the sport. I have many memories of being led on what felt like the longest trail rides having no clue where we were. Those earliest days of "venturing out" are impossible to replicate when you get older.

Untucked jersey? Yikes... Went through the over-the-boot pants phase for a short time after this too.





Not my oldest one, but a good one. Ascot Park approx 1974. No googles, no gloves going for it.

1974 on my 125 Elsinore. Stripped off my boots and leathers so they wouldn't get soaked. My girlfriend had a spare rubber band to keep my bell bottoms getting sucked in the chain.

I was 15 in 1975, I blew my TM125 up, so fitted the TM pipe, cylinder & carb to my Dads TS125, and leaned the rear shocks down, 15 year old with a stick welder will play :-)
