We're vaccinated and wear masks and are respectful of protocols and other people's well being, but I think if I were a high level athlete that made my living as a high level athlete, I'd be hesitant to take any vaccines, or really any antibiotics/medicine/etc., unless absolutely necessary. When your body is tuned to that level, you really don't want to fuck with it. And of course at the same time, they'd put just as much effort into avoiding catching anything, because if you do, then you may as well have gotten vaccinated. Now, if they're not taking any vaccines and are also cavalier about protocols, then they're just full of shit.

It's unconstitutional for Government to force any company to make employees get vaccineted. THAT'S WHY !!!
It's a stupid rule. Either test everyone, or test nobody.

Unless you have a valid personal health reason that prevents being vaccinated, vaccination is a public health benefit. Even if you still get sick you will not clog up the ICU's for people who need them for heart attacks , accidents, and other major health issues that would land you in the ICU.

It really shouldn't be a matter of being forced or coerced but doing your part to maintain a viable healthcare system. Delaying nonemergent or extremely critical care because the ICU is full is happening nearly everywhere in the US now. That is a terrible terrible thing. When you need health care , you need it!

With that said I am fully on board to just test everyone in SX and call it good.
Nobody cares about your opinion so you can take a wild guess where to put it. Lots of topics on this in Non Moto, you can virtue signal and tell a bunch of adults what choices they should make till cows come home.

No ones forcing a rider to ride for a living.

If I were a team boss I was say take the vaccine or ill
Find a rider that was willing to.

The world is watching how the supercross elites are behaving, it’s not good pr.

Just look how well received Novak Drokovic is for his ignorance towards covid.

It’s a shame someone like Rozcen couldn’t have set a more positive example.

Dave Pingree loves a bit of miss information along with Grant Langston too.

All these names have a big influence on mx folk, not good. I expect in time there will be regrets. USA has a long way to go yet with the pandemic.

Not exactly true. It may be unconstitutional for the government to force private businesses to require vaccination, but not for the private business to do so on their own.

Damn these threads drag you in like rubber necking a car crash.

Most importantly, is the flashing lady from A1 in for Oakland?

Technically, they ruled that OSHA doesn’t have the authority not the federal government. Probably doesn’t make a practical difference but I don’t think it means future laws would automatically get shot down either.

If I was a manufacturer, and I was paying guys a shit ton of money to race my bikes, I would insist they take every possible step to ensure that they stay healthy, don’t miss races, and give themselves the very best chance of a championship.

So, even if the vaccine had just a 1% chance of preventing sickness or a positive test I would consider that a valid reason for my riders to get it to protect my (and indeed their own) investment. Bollocks to their conspiracy belief shit.

I mean, the manufacturers are shaving weight from the smallest part and even fitting electric water pumps(!) in the pursuit of the tiniest of advantages. Yet the riders are happy to risk losing an entire race-worth of points (maybe two) by not taking every step possible to prevent Covid. It makes no sense to me.

If I were a rider I’d think the same way. There’s just too much money on the line not to.

No the last part is not true.
Anyone who tests positive cannot race.
If you are vaccinated you get a credentials pass. U show it at the gate and walk in each week.
If u are not vaccinated you have to covid test and get an armband each week.
That's really the extent. If 2 ppl have covid and have no symptoms. The guy with the vaccine will walk in the gate and race. The guy without will test positive.
If a vaccinated rider has to test for whatever reason. And they test positive they will still have to sit out till they are negative.
That sure was a long way to quote the guy you’re disputing.

Not sure, but I think you’re confused. It’s not unconstitutional for companies to make rules. They can even make stupid rules.

What is every step? Vax won’t stop you from getting Covid.

Its only a vaccine cos they changed the definition.

At the moment, it is still an experimental jab for Emergency Use.

Must be quite an emergency if every health care system in the world are demanding it.

You can still get the flu with flu vaccines. Been that way for nearly a century. It's funny because people say, "no big deal, it's just like the flu!!!", but then they act surprised to find out you can still catch and transmit when you're vaccinated....just like you can with the flu. The reason for this conflict is because they're full of shit from the start.

If they only test the unvaxxed, then I don’t blame the riders for getting fake vax passports. Test everyone or no one.

Amen. Not to mention at the moment, pretty much every case out there is a "breakthrough case" which is just a fancy label for vaccinated people catching covid. I know nobody with Covid at the moment that is not vaccinated, just about everybody I know that is vaccinated has Covid at the moment. It is honestly frightening for what is going to happen for the next flavor.. I am assuming all of the folks that are not vaccinated have had Covid, with healthy immunity, but can't figure out why everybody that is vaccinated is sick right now.

Anyway, I agree, it is 2022, test all riders, or test none. The previous 'standards' and separation of the classes are well proven now to be a crock of poop.

Companies absolutely can require a vaccine as well as most anything at an at-will employer. But competitive companies don’t because they don’t want to lose or not be able to attract people.
However ….
Most companies are relieved SCOTUS nixed the mandate because it will cost them employees that won’t accept the vax and it’s something a company can’t control. It may be a level field in a competitive industry when govt mandates all, but I know several people that will just retire or move to non vax mandated business.

Yup
Our Industry has mandated that some employees must get it. Those employees have to test 3 days a week still.
The unvaccinated employees test 1 time a week.

Madness…. So crazy

Let’s just keep this going…eventually the vaccinated will have no one to blame but themselves…all of us unvaccinated will be locked away/masked at home by their design…

Vaxxed and boosted here. I realize I'm the minority. I work in healthcare, it was mandated. I would have taken it regardless, such was my optimism in Feb 2021 when I was up for my first shot.

In spite of that, the testing needs to equalized for everyone in SX. At this point the vaccine is at best a prophylactic antiviral. With people being infected widely regardless of vaccine status, it is crap to only be testing the non-vaccinated.

Chances are everyone will get it.. no vaccination means weekly testing. Would have been smart to just get vaccinated and avoid the weekly testing.
