Couldn't agree more.

I already do, and it's walking into a stadium full of 125 two strokes on the track

Electric bikes will be the next air forks, mark my words. The manufactures may want us to switch and some may be on board and all about it, but for the sport as a whole is concerned it's not going to work. E-Bikes probably sound amazing in theory but in reality I don't see the entire sport just switching over night. Especially for competitive racing. They will completely obliterate core industry companies like Pro Circuit, FMF, Yosh etc which regardless of how you feel could be a major issue. Am I saying the technology is completely lame and useless? Absolutely not. That Stark bike looks really good. I just feel they will be more popular and useful for urban riding around the house or something, not for racing or competition use. I also see a lot of people comparing E Bikes to the four stroke revolution when there's no way you can compare the two. Four strokes were still an internal combustion engine. A four stroke is still a motocross bike while an electric bike should be categorized as something else entirely. I don't see anyone else mentioning this but, I can't imagine feld and MX Sports being on board. Nobody is going to pay to come watch electric bikes race.
I’ll pay.

Did anyone mention clutching or shifting?

Edit: Loftin mentioned clutching before I did

I'll miss just the feeling being on a fuel powered machine in general being the piolet being the piolet controlling the machine will be much less when electric bikes come.

But I'll miss most is the skill required at a high level of racing, I mean electronics especially TC is being used now but with a full electric bike it will be even crazier, I've always been a firm believer things like traction control should really exist in professional racing but that's just me.

The big potential winner will be the average joes there will be many maps to ride with, the noise levels and maint,

When the sport moved from predominantly two strokes to predominantly four strokes, companies like Pro-Circuit, FMF, DEP et al, didnt disappear. They adapted and began producing items that the consumer was spending on.

What makes you think that won't happen again?

One thing that no one seems to talk about is how much this will level the playing field for privateers and lower level teams.. it may just make racing even better!

i ride 2 strokes for the past 20 years. i love them for the lightweight feelin the luck of inertia and the direct connection between my right hand and the rear wheel.. smell wise not a big fan, sound is better than 4 strokes but ok can live without it
so if e bikes feel lighter and more responsive than 2 strokes im not gonna miss anything
idk if im too old to adapt, but ill try!

4 stroke rev limiters, 2 strokes WFO, the smell of premix and race fuel, feeling the ground shake right before the drop of a full gate of 450s. For me, I wish electric to be domestic. Use it for cars, residential lawn care, etc. Leave racing with fuel and oil, sounds and smells. Its all part of the whole experience that makes motocross so great.

Just like old cars they will still have a place. Unless they ban fuel bikes. That wont happen in my life time. Fmf pc and all motor shops will still be here.

I won't miss anything- I will become a "vintage guy"

Right now, I can't wait to get my hands on a vintage 2022 CRF450RX.....maybe around 2040 if I am still alive and mobile- it looks awesome. I have not said that about any Honda in a long time.

Amazing what a splash of blue in the graphics did for my attitude

I will miss nothing. I'm keeping my 2-stroke, and I will lubricate my e-bike's drive chain with the tears of all the thumper riders whose bikes got obsoleted like my ring-dingers did.

I own the entire company. Along with my relatives in the low country of SC. Primarily Barnwell. Know any Sleytown Boys?
