Outdoors? Quite possibly. But that's because AMA Pros are almost singularly focused on Supercross. The skillsets are very different. Right or wrong. That's just the way it is. JMO.

At certain tracks, no doubt Herlings, Febvre, Gajser, could be the podium.
Every weekend? I think Tomac, Roczen and Ferrandis would have something to say about that.

As others said right now? For sure. If focus was split? I think they would be contenders outdoors but wouldn’t do very well indoors. It’s hard to compare when one side of the pond is 100% outdoors and the other is 75/25

But you are probably correct.

Tomac, Webb, Roczen, were all off their ALL-TIME great pace this year Outdoors and Ferrandis took them all to the woodshed. I've seen each of them in better form previously.

If Herlings, Febvre and Gaiser showed up to our last Outdoor national with the pace they have been running in MXGP lately, I think we'd see another Herlings Ironman 2017 type of performance... I've not seen those guys ever ride better than they are now.

You mean top 5 if all 3 come over right? Any of those 3 are when healthy going to be title candidates and top 3 if only one of them comes over.

Not an excuse but in the US teams and riders don’t care about outdoors as much as SX because SX is the premier series. Because of this our riders will not stray to far away from their SX settings for the outdoors. The riders in the GPs are racing their premier series and are the best in the world because of this.

Wat? (Not arguing with you)

There is a flipping huge difference between SX suspension and Outdoor suspension.

The Europeans have refined MX setup and don't have the same rules on equipment as the US do hence them becoming the Outdoor specialists in recent years.

If the top 3 Euros came to the US outdoors they would have an equally hard time winning the Championship as anyone in the US does.

My two cents.

People have said that many times before.... and not one euro has ever come in here and straight off crushed us in a series.....

Different worlds.... and the vast majority of them, still won't race sx.....

A good example is Greg Albertyn.

World Championships: 125cc – 1992; 250cc – 1993 and 1994.

Then he came to the US to compete in SX and MX. He got hurt so many times in SX that it took him until 1999 to win the AMA 250cc Outdoor Championship.

I think the point is that their successes in MXGP might not translate as well to supercross. The facts are that supercross titles are harder to come by than outdoor titles in the U.S. Making a main is a lot different than running top 5 and being a threat to win a sx.

I've no doubt that given time to prepare, someone like Gajser or Herlings could do well. But I would also extend that charity to the U.S. based riders if they took the time to prepare for MXGP. They would be competitive given enough time to prepare.

I don’t think they would win straight away. The US summer conditions (heat & humidity) would have a massive detrimental effect on their results. And this from a Euro!
