My word, if going to run a track twice at least do it at a real track.

Pala twice... Can we bury the hatchet with Jody and get Glen Helen back?
In a 12 race schedule we should have no repeat tracks. Glen Helen or not.

Too hot for some people. Lots of guys didnt race moto 2 at WW Ranch in 19 or 20. Sexton wins moto 1 and doesnt line up for moto 2. Takes the next round off and is lack luster for the 2 rounds after that. Heat exhaustion.

What would be sick to try would be a night race. But all in all im hyped to hit Washougal again with Eli on a blue bike.

I didn’t know there weren’t any motocross tracks in the southeast. Wild!

To be honest, racing twice at Pala looks dumb. Knowing that you've a few total blank areas where the motocommunity has no Pro Supercross but also no Pro National.

Also can't places like Ponca, Baja Acres, Mammoth or others (with some help and updates) holding a national? Maybe a little trip to Canada? I mean if Texas and Florida are out of the question because of the heat... It's sad that WW Ranch and Freestone are out of it just because of the heat and other races such as Colorado (raced at night for the heat) and Pala that is damn hot is on it twice. So I really question if that is the real reason.

For everyone screaming "Put a race in XX location!" Are there tracks in those locations that have the infrastructure to handle a national, and more importantly, actually want to host a race?

I've never promoted a race before, but I've been involved in enough large scale events (30K+ people) to know that it's never as easy as the "all you have to do is.." crowd would like to think it is.

I’ve been to 3 Pala nationals in the last 2 years. In 2022, I think I’ll go riding instead…

I was at them also, It’s only 2 hours from my house and isn’t a nightmare getting out of if you leave a little bit early. The packing ice in rules changing every time is what bothers me the most. I’ll likely still go next year

Just as a quick note, there's no room to do a National at Mammoth, you can't even get a semi into the track.

And the teams won't accept a crossing of the border for one round.

It'll be cool to see how it works out having the California state mx series run in conjunction with the Nationals. 🤨

Are there really only 11 tracks that want or can handle a national?

Pssst…

The Pro-Pits/Semis have plllllenty of room at the lower lot(s) and they can set-up
Trackside Pit Facilities if needed…?

Mammoth is a ridiculously fun track and the scenery ain’t too bad, either. The town and the area are a helluva lot fun for all things outdoors and “adventure”.

The real problem? It’s considered “too remote”; but, it is conveniently located smack-dab between…
The SoCal/Southland metro
The Bay Area/Sacto metros
Reno
Vegas

I don’t know, heck, you’d certainly need to make it a little more challenging by going back to the “old layout”/back up into the trees in the southwest corner of the track to keep it in the 2 minute range.

It would be kinda nice to have a race out west that’s a “Destination Race”. That’s how I define Unadilla…and it’s pretty darn “remote”.

And it’s worth the time to get there.

Let's see Muddy Creek, Freestone, Jacksonville and Loretta's all were not good enough. How many more tracks in the South are capable but not given a 2nd look.

Plenty! I don’t understand the excuse of lack of pit space, parking etc. etc. when time and time again SX’s are held in the inner cities with at some locations zero footprint. There are tracks in the South that are most definitely do able if the comforts of “space” were put aside.

Three of those tracks were given second looks. Muddy Creek and WW Ranch both passed on getting back on the national schedule, Freestone was unfortunately sparsely attended and would be extremely hot in the space of time we have, and we never planned on returning to Loretta Lynn's, it was an emergency move during the pandemic when five other tracks (Washougal, High Point, Southwick, Budd Creek and Unadilla) could not run due to local restrictions.

They were all good events, but for various reasons--including how hot it might be between mid-June and late-August--they were not options for 2022.

And Brocster, it's hard to have a successful national when there's no place to park anybody. Downtown stadiums have huge parking lots, but not many allow overnight camping.

We will keep looking--Tim Cotter just visited three potential sites--and I am headed south next week too. If you have some suggestions as to where else to visit, by all means let me know: DC@racerxonline.com

American MX needs a change, and this schedule aint it. Fox raceway twice? A brand new track would be nice once in a while...

Mammoth Mountain doesn't allow any overnight camping, and that includes competitors. It would be impossible to get the full professional paddock and all of the teams, industry staff, TV people and of course the spectators in and parking and ready to go before 8 a.m. practice. It works for the Mammoth race, but it would not work for an outdoor national. Believe me, we've thought about, but there's too much set-up for everyone to make it work.

Would like to see something closer than 900 miles away. It's a full day of driving to get to the closest race.

I'll put this very bluntly, if you can't take a couple days off from your business without it imploding, you're either in the first 1-2 years & should be working every single day, or if you've been at it a few years & still can't, then you have built your business incorrectly and need to learn to delegate.
