Maybe this has been kicked around here previously...but I guess I missed it. Sooooo...

Back in the 80's, JT Racing seemed to have the majority of the hotshot factory guys under gear contracts. Their stuff was great looking, was pretty high quality, and their logo was unmistakable.

Then...they vanished. They seemed to pop back in the early 2000's...but the look wasn't nearly as sharp, and you don't see anybody with JT gear any more...at least not any professional riders.

Are they still around in moto...a\ doing water or snow sports...or have they completely shut down?

They sold the company to a paintball industry entity, left moto for greener pastures in the paintball world

Marty Tripes helped them design and manufacture paintball gear and it blew up. Top riders started demanding higher pay so John Gregory stopped hiring big name riders once Lechien was done. They tried staying relevant in the gear industry, but they just made so much money in paintball they didn’t promote it props.

The Gregory’s sold it mid 2000 and they are still relevant in paintball.

I still wear JT gear I bought a few years back, purely out of nostalgia. It's held up very well and looks pretty decent.

Retro MX has a few JT rider (race) replica jerseys for the VMX guys. He replicates jerseys from certain events, or even motos for local VMX racers

I’m wearing JT gear in my profile pick from about 5 years ago…and I have a newer set in my rotation. Though I’m not sure how current they are as I got them both on clearance.

I like the look of it and it fit nice…

JT was the real deal. You could order custom colors, custom logos. I had black and white vented Honda pants. You'd think with technology that customization would be all the rage, but it ain't.

It's a small world. I was on facebook once, friend of a friend is the Gregory's neighbor.

I think Matthes had John Gregory on as guest.

What year do you consider Lechien was done exactly?

The day he broke his leg was the last time he raced with JT. He was done as a racer that day, but he still had influence in the industry.

So if you talk about big names, Johnson and Bayle rode for JT Racing in 1990. Then Bayle in 1991.

He did race in 1990 on a kx250 wearing black JT gear…maybe Paris or somewhere. There are pics somewhere.

I actually really liked this gear back around the mid 2010s. These were my two favorite colorways, thought it fit really good and held up well.

Here he is in '91. I think he switched mid-year to Sinisalo or AXO, can't really remember.

I think that was a one off race at San Diego SX...that was indeed 1991.

Pretty sure he switched over when he got the Tuf Racing ride for the 500cc nationals.

JT was THE shit back in the day. Some great looking gear back then. Whoever owns them now...that stuff is a joke.
