Anyone who wants to dog his skills has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Results have not been there but if you listen to him the primary reason is lack of seat time training. He has focused his energy on building his business (notice I didn't say brand) and having something that lasts.

If you have ever been at track level and focused on his technique he is absolutely butter. Fundamentally there are no flaws in his technique, he just has to be willing to "Eat sx, Sleep sx, Sh!t sx, F@ck sx" along with pushing out of comfort level and his results would go through the roof.

So in other words he doesn't want results that go through the roof, or he would have done what you suggested.

AJ vs Buttery, who you got? Wink

I got flown in to ride with him two weeks ago and it absolutely blew my mind how fast and in control of the bike he was. I’m sure a lot of people in bigger Moto hub cities on here have ridden around pros before but it was a first for me and I couldn’t stop staring. Absolutely incredible talent and skill. Puts in perspective that he qualified for the night show all year but didn’t make one main.

Shock has made the most improvement and consistently top 10 this year, so he would be my choice to bring on to a factory level 250 ride.
Pardon the pun but I was Shocked that he came out in 250 C practice at Orlando 2 this year. First race of the east coast and they had both him and Thury in the C practice. Think about that, they thought there was at least 44 riders better than Coty Schock and Dominique Thury in the east coast 250 division.

Bringing it back to AJ, we all know that he didn't make a main this year but where does everyone think he ranks in earnings for last year? I would be willing to bet that he is right below the factory guys in earnings 7-10th place.

AJ already did a video saying he was not riding a Kawasaki next year. I had the impression he already knew what he was doing but it just wasn't announced yet. I think the guess is Honda based on his interaction with Jett and Hunter. No idea if it is HRC but I doubt it. Honda also had the majority of the youtube moto bloggers to the CRF250R launch in Oregon. This seems to be a new direction in Honda marketing. It is possible they would give him a bike just to get it in more of the youtube videos. I suspect the target audience (at least the younger riders) for 250 mx bikes probably watches a decent amount of youtube.

Is reading comprehension that tough? His focus has been on building his business and not in being a supercross rider. He attends the races and attempts to make the mains in order to keep his name relevant. Now that his business has grown to a certain level he has been saying he'd like to make another push for results.

I dunno maybe 5 years ago? Maybe the year davalos threw a chain and lost the championship and Bogle won? I’m almost positive he has filled in at PC.

Ho Lee Sheet, you've started a shit ton of topics over the last couple of weeks (since you joined). Let me offer a bit of advice: Quality over quantity. Every random thought doesn't require a discussion, nor does it require a poll.

He hasn't. Here is the team history. They list fill in riders as well.

As a huge fan of him, and someone who grew up racing him (in the same classes occasionally but nowhere near him 😂) and being in awe of his talent on a bike…never gonna happen

Does Honda give Hanny bikes still?

Why not?

Someone out there may be wondering what all the commotion is and decide to watch some AJ videos and actually learn some good riding tips.

To hell with "If it saves just one child" I'm all for "If it unlocks one riders hips." Laughing Laughing Laughing

He'd surely like to race with his Alta but it's not possible.
At first I would say austrian, but then he quite felt in love with the new Honda 250 and the red gang
He will probably tease for some time about his new direction

He might fit on a B team like club mx or Phoenix honda but not pc. The cat does have a following but hes not a regular in main and PC is a team that expects wins not top 20

AJ has had 5 top tens, in his entire career, which all happened 7+ years ago.
Do you really think that if he trained his ass off, and got a PC ride, he would be back to the top 10?

Everyone on Vital has as much chance of being on a PC ride as AJ.

I'd like to see what he could do on a PC bike with a proper off season of training!
And the world is Changing there is more to choosing a rider these days than just results, AJ has a great following and with his YouTube channel he will bring fans And SALES!
To any team he goes to! Similar to Dean Wilson.
If Not PC what 250 team do you think would be a good fit for AJ?
AJ confirmed on his youtube channel that he would not be on Kawasaki next year. He also confirmed that he will be on a 250 so this would not be possible. He is very close to the Lawrence brothers so I expect him to be on a satellite Honda team with Honda support.

I thought this would be a thread announcing AJ was the new PC riding coach.

I could see that.

I'm actually not new for some reason I could sign in On a lap top but not on phone which is usually what I'm on so I made a new account. But Isn't conversation what a forum is for?
As I Said above I was purposely trying to start conversation because it Gets a little boring and slow sometimes, thus starting new threads.
Maybe some feel it's just to share facts?
I consider it bench Racing, how would AJ do on a PC Kawasaki, With some training and know from Mitch?
Probably better!
Unlikely sure I thought that when I wrote it. But I do think it would be mutually beneficial even without being a title threat.

The same could be said about everyone in the main. This is THE premier sx series in the world. This isn’t the local fair race filled with C riders.

Where did I say he should sign with PC and he would get top 10's?

My comment was that he is one of the most technically sound riders out there. I work on the track and see these guys from 5 feet away and study rider technique. My guess is that he is racing just to test and perfect the techniques that he is using to teach.

He has other things outside of racing going on too.
I'll play devils advocate just to add to the conversation but the point that he didn't make a main is the beauty of it. I am quit sure he is totally capable of making mains. He is a great rider and can improve to making mains. I'm fairly certain of it. If PC gave him a real PC bike, made it look like he had a PC sponsorship (not under the tent at races) and with his Youtube channel, he can easily prove that it was PC that got him the results. He could go over his bike each week and show progress each week and do a race diary like Dean Wilson. It could be pulled off and prove that PC is for the privateer and working man rider as well as the running at the top with their team from under the tent. I think it would be a brilliant idea. If AJ could make the mains each week it would sell PC parts for sure.
