And please remember that Glen Helen is not on the schedule because they canceled their round of the series and asked to be take off the schedule. Twice. We moved on. Twice.
We're just trying to get to the finish line now in what's been a phenomenal series, with very large crowds and great racing. It's not been easy in 2021, but it's been awesome.

The track at Pala is fun, and we'll maintained. But it's a very desolate and barren landscape with no shade for the fans at all. I struggle to see why you're defending against that. There are beautiful deserts (Joshua tree, anzo borrego, etc) but Pala is not in one of them.
That said I will go anywhere they hold MX in socal. I went to lake Elsinore, and that's the worst facility I've ever seen a pro race at.
It also doesn't help that we're in the middle of a hot ass summer and drought, so everything looks dead af.
Anybody that has ever flown over Texas or Florida knows the pilot doesn't have to watch out for mountains..
How many “privateers” racing out of their pick-up or van?
How much is the entry for your beloved Rich Guy Series?
How much is a ticket to watch a GP?
Those are the differences that I’d look at B4 I start whining about venues.
But, hey, that’s just me.

Secondly, was it ever said that there should be no rounds in the south due to heat or did vital posters make that up?
It has not rained here since April, So it looks like a desert in some places, Pala included.
In the winter when it does rain, the hills are green and grass grows on the side of the jumps, but they never show that on tv.
The facility is excellent and could hold a national. You can see the whole track from the grandstands.
I have only been to Cycle Ranch once and don’t know how the facility is now but the track was epic.
The problem with Freestone is you can’t see the track to watch the race and it is in the middle of no where.
I stopped going because it was a better experience on tv.
It is good for an amateur national but not good for viewing.
The issue isn’t the heat in Texas. People who live down here are used to it.
I believe the even bigger issue than rider safety in the heat is what DC eluded to, spectators don’t wanna stand around in the heat.
If they could get a round at Cycle Ranch that would be amazing, IMHO the place could handle a National. But would have to be in a cooler month. 45 min from San Antonio airport, 1:40 from Austin.
An even better idea is at the Circuit of the Americas. Would have to be a temporary man made deal. But right next to Austin would be badass. Wasn’t this talked about years ago?
Thank God you came along and opened my eyes. My thoughts were idiotic, and I apologize. MXGP isn't worth spit.
Post a reply to: So can’t have a race in Texas or Florida because it’s too hot….
