For anyone interested, just uploaded 1998 Unadilla Motocross National 'Rev It Up' video. It was the year Reynard passed Carmichael in moto #1, and RC does get the overall. Reynard 2nd on the day.
Highlights the races and there is coverage of the 'Industry Race' that happened there that year.

The quality is low, but making sure YouTube is set to the highest resolution helps. Looks like 480 is the highest setting. Also, might be better off not maximizing the screen. The actual VHS footage is better, but the YouTube compression makes it more grainy. I also brightened the screen a notch and that helps.
I've heard that it looks way better on a phone than on a computer.

James... "I noticed that when I watch the races on TV they never show me when I'm way out front. I let Chad go by so the they would show more of me on TV and see how great my KX125 works."

How very dare he!
Second place was first loser..
There was no “I’m trying my best” or “we just settled for second today, big picture”
The coolest story I remember is Chad leaving his second place trophy on the podium because he didn’t want it.
These guys gave it everything they had.
I have no doubt Stewart could have pulled that move on a perfectly healthy Reed with the same results.
Pit Row
Regardless if Reed talked shit or not (so what), letting someone by just to "hrrr hrrr" pass them back coz ur faster is not only lame on its own, but even lamer if the person is injured.
This is not worthy of a nut hugging ladies.
The rest is history.
What Stewart did in no way is lame in my opinion. He had the speed to do that to a perfectly healthy Reed.
The point is that Stew pulled that move when he knew Reed had just busted his shoulder and couldn’t hold on. Watch Reed’s body language in the clip, it’s very clear. So Stewart took the safe opportunity to pull a killer psych move, and what a move it was. That era was all about psych, hence Reed talking it up.
However if it was so easy, why didn’t Stew pull that move before or ever again? Simple, too risky with a healthy opponent, but that one day it was a safe move and so began the legend. It’s a great story, but needs a little perspective.
I mean the guy came from last to first in a race, and was beating 250s.
it makes me laugh every time... every one talks so much about it but doesn't know the full story,
It's not like Reed posed a real threat to James in the 125 class. He simply didn't. No one did.
your right. Reed got waxed that whole series.
but the whole pull over was glorified when it was against an injured rider.. we all knew reed didnt have the speed. but to do the act against a rider who had a dislocated shoulder in practice. more or less bad timing hahah
That's what made it 'lame' in my opinion
What James did was immature, a bit unprofessional, but also awesome and legendary, which is why it's still talked about today.
