This situation is why I am a big advocate of radio com' from the race director, to help the flaggers, just in case. Let us never see another Alessi crash that could have been much much worse. That sucks Brown got tangled pretty bad too.

If anyone could have avoided that, it was RJ as he he pushed the envelope on that turn and collided with Brown from behind. He knew the lines came together but still pulled an RJ and today it costs some money to his employer.

Don't take me wrong, I like him and I'd have probably done the same but he's racing kids that have as many years riding as he has as a pro and his desperation ended his race as he didn't remove the banner before gasing it.

Brown lost the front end which took RJ out. Then Brown wondered into the middle of the race track and stood right in Jett's path. Brown caused it all ! 1 If he had not lost the front end RJ would have not gone ( He lost the front before RJ arrived ) 2 Who goes to pick up their bike with a pack of racers coming through ( Normal people look left look right and then when it is safe to do so .... )

Clearly alot of people on this forum have never raced a day in their lives let alone at a decent level judging by some of the recent posts lately trying to blame everything on some one. Litrally no one was at fault here, there was no flags out and when your battling like that theres noway anyone would have seen what what had happened until it was too late.
It litrally all unfolded within a couple of seconds.
Same with the sexton webb incident. Shit happens people! Get a grip 🤦🏼‍♂️

For those questioning my eyes or moto knowledge, he admits he did it. For those saying there was no flags, prove it.
Gatedrop had the photo.....Why was it pulled?

For those that think AMA MX/SX should be like Nascar,( floor it when you see a yellow or an accident) realize what's going to happen..it seems Honda rider's are told to gas it when there is an incident.

There isn't anything to prove. There's been no protest or penalty. In fact you seem to be the only person on the planet who believes there is an issue and appear to be becoming a bit unhinged about it.

Hunter, Frye, Masterpool all jumped over there faster than Jett did. Each of them would have hit Brown. Jett just happened to be the first to come around the turn...

The pussification of motocross continues.

Maybe you should find another sport or better yet a game to follow.....something safe, with players rather than athletes, like baseball.

Regardless of who did what, that was the closest thing I have ever seen to being the MX version of “the big one” at Daytona or Talladega.

It’s a good thing Pierce saw him coming and somehow softened the blow, if he had his back turned he could’ve been killed, and then this conversation would have an entirely different tone.
These guys all show "personal recklessness" multiple times every lapSmile

A number of riders ran into same pile of bikes and riders, can't single out one rider....another race incident .

Bloody hell, I normally avoid coming in on posts about fellow Aussies. I'm not one for opportunistic patriotism / jingoism, with people I have no connection with other than being born in the same country.

But f**k me, JL didn't "jump", his rear wheel only left the ground from both slamming the front brake on, and, hitting the bloke. Who knows if there were any yellows out? - there was sweet FA time from the first prang until the impact. And, the idea that radio coms that some have put forward could be affective in that time frame is ridiculous. Cripes there were quite a few, after JL, that had their wheels off the ground, well after the first 2 prangs.

JL apologizing to the other fellow? Well yes, most decent human beings don't feel good about running into another human being. It's not a good feeling, both emotionally, and physically. S**t, I apologized to a bloke I landed on over one of the blind 'floater' jumps at Jilliby, way, way back in the 80s here in OZ, and there sure as hell weren't any flags ( or, video that some will always use to slag someone, a dreaded foreigner, for running into their countryman) to let me know, to put any guilt on me.

Geez Johnny Depp ( do you idolize that bloke? He's quite an fine Actor, but seems also, quite a w**ker), you really seem to be just going for posting counts , with the threads you start.

I swear some people have never raced a motocross race, but want to throw blame about a riders decision making in a race situation. Laughable....🤷

I was at spring creek yesterday sitting right there. The issue was the flagger on the downhill before being a complete idiot and standing 8’ off the edge of the track waving his flag with one hand on his hip. Everyone on the edge of the track saw it all coming and were yelling at him - dude was clueless and I’m not sure he even knew they piled up like they did.

Thanks, I couldn't find one in the photo other than before the corner near the Chain Lube blow up can. You can see the lights at the end of the jump, and the photographer who must have got it all (before the picture got pulled).

That doesn't excuse the other rider's who did the same thing. There is no way a flagger can be in the right spot and react quick enough every time. The rider's must bear some responsibility in a situation that was clearly out of hand.

This happens far too often at local tracks as well. I’ve lost count at the number of times we’ve yelled to flaggers either about a crash they’re completely oblivious to or the fact that they wave a flag on the backside of the takeoff. I can live with the fact that the sport itself is dangerous, let’s be real, it’s part of the reason we do it. However the people entrusted with helping keep the riders safer are failing miserably it seems more often than not. And I get it, a flagger especially at a local track pays peanuts, but at a pro national I think the expectations should be higher. As far as the original post, drugs are bad for you bud.

Have you ever raced? If you have, I’d think you’d have a better understanding on how fast things happen and how little reaction time there is? If you haven’t raced, see sentence above.

I think it’s more along the lines of why is the OP is singling out Jett when there were several other riders who did the same thing. I highly doubt half the top 10 just decided to play demolition derby mid-race to see how much carnage they could cause. There are other factors at play that caused this chain of events. Singling out Jett(or any other rider) in this incident is laughable. It was a bad deal for everyone involved and I hope everyone is ok.

That was just a shit eating mess. I'd like to see another camera angle to show what the flagger in that section was up to.

You keep using the words "admits it" completely out of context.

He doesn't 'admit' to knowing that there is a crash coming up. He said that some other riders slowed, and he thought that he had an opening. You are misrepresenting it by inferring that he 'admits' that he knew riders were slowing because riders were down across the track, which isn't supported by his words.

Your supposition is incredibly bizarre, especially when you are suggesting that Lawrence would intentionally damage his title hopes by trying to crash into a downed bike.

There is a picture..he had a clear view of a rider standing on the jump,.and this isn't just about him. Several rider's showed caution and kept wheels on the ground, and a few did not... Hard to believe they are passing out penalties this morning for the 450 class and this incident isn't under review.

He just doesn't like Lawrence. Like singling out a kid just because he's such a star isn't just as cringey as dudes "dIcK rIDiNg" him.
