Dungey was self trained and won. He didn’t go to Aldon till 2015. It’s not impossible.

This is a freaking bold move by Webb. If he doesn't win the SX Championship next year he is going to be under huge scrutiny and his decision will be questioned by the entire moto world. I can hear it now "He can't win without Aldon."

Webb is showing a huge amount of confidence in himself by going it alone. Either that or he has decided that the level of success he attained is good enough for him and the cost to win another championship isn't worth what he will have to pay. My money is on confidence.

If Aldon took a guy like, say, Alex Ray (a consistent 20th-ish place guy) and he started winning races and titles after working with Aldon, then I’d think Aldon had something special….but until then, I think the majority of his success is from guys that would have been very successful without him (and with another trainer).

The system helped Anderson for sure, he was lazy and needed the structure.

Webb needed the bike much more than Aldon.

And he will always win them with the mental side of all the championships he has.
And that is why all of them ride together now.

But even if they know everything, I don't think it would be the same and them to not have that push from aldon. Doing on there own thing, im sure they might skip the things they hate and that 1% makes all the difference.

Now I’m intrigued with AP7. Matthes pointed out that ktm is most likely to win the battle. Does he train at Aldons or elsewhere. I know Aldons contract with ktm/husky is complete this year

Yep I think Anderson and Osborne are the two that would never have won a title without Aldon and possibly bagget? My memory is foggy but I believe the only national title Blake has was with Aldon? I’m on the fence with Webb, he was already a 250 champion but I don’t think he would have won his first sx title with just the bike change as he had said in interviews he only trained at 80% mid week but maybe the bike would have been enough eventually? It’s hard to say
