The ‘Wick will be wet

Tropical storm Elsa. But should be OK for race time based on the latest forecast. High of 80 on Saturday.

Good. It's always cool when it rains there because it washes off all the dirt from the number plates.

Yup, lots of ruts Saturday morning anyways, Hopefully the track will be in better shape by the afternoon.
I live about 30 minutes from Southwick, it rained a lot today and Friday looks worse , I'm going to the track Friday afternoon to get my pass and checkout the track.

its a shit show down my way right now, im about 45 minutes south of the wick. from what i can see it looks like the nasty will be done tonight and should be beautiful come tomorrow. might be a bit moist lol, but luckily i think we'll avoid a mudder.

Same here. I'm about 25 mins for Southwick. We have flood warning all over the state right now. Should make for good racing.

I'm hoping for deep GP style ruts but with nice sunny weather. Should be a good day.

That's one of my favorite races to go back and watch. From almost missing the first lap and getting a DNF to a 7th place in moto 2 for 3rd overall on the day.

Still remember watching it, my heart was in my mouth waiting to see if goose would come over the hill in time.

Me and my buddies had our pick of primo grandstand seats because nobody was at the race. Huge RD fan. I was crushed when he didn't take off with the pack on the start. He was easily 3/4 of a lap down

I was there in 2011 on a "bucket list" race (I'm from Ca) dropping off my son for college in NY. Hurricane came through, still went to race in the rain. Remember the anxiety Dungey had waiting on the starting line without his bike as the pack took off. Then he took off just barely before he would have been disallowed to race due to being a lap down. High drama! If I'm still racing when I'm retired I've got to get in a few amateur races there. Love the sand.

Having lived here 90% of my life…it’s gonna be absolutely perfect come moto time tomorrow. First practice might be a little sloppy and it’ll ride in immediately after. I wish they still did that practice after when they’d leave the track rough from the National

So, do you think the normally firmer base will loosen up and make for deeper sand? I just hope it doesn’t rut up too bad. But yeah, should be a great day weather wise.

The track was looking good around 5:00 today, some soft spots but it was in better shape than I thought it would be.
Hopefully the rain that is in the forecast for tonight won't happen.
