On the broadcast, while they were discussing wheels... Did anyone catch Dungey reference that Grant may know about broken wheels too? Was it an accidental rehash of a bad day at steel city? Lol

I think it was a general statement meaning the man knows what he’s talking about since one cost him a championship on 2001

Yeah, at Steel City. I watched it come apart from 50 yards away.

I just found it funny that RD would point out that GL knows about failed wheels all too well..

Probably been awhile since he’s had a mic in front of him.

No no no no no. RD is too nice to be critical of these guys. That’s part of what makes GL good. He’s not afraid to call out mistakes. Dunge just goes ‘ah gee I dunno he’s trying real hard’

You guys want better pit reporters and former racers on the mic, you get one of the best, then criticize and put him under a microscope. I don't think anyone is capable of meeting the vital standards, or you just like to complain. I loved seeing the dude back out there again

It didn't sound like any sort of disrespect or anything like that, he didn't mention that incident specifically.

Why do they keep forcing Dungey onto the broadcasts? He has not been good ever. Quit trying to make fetch a thing

Oh GL can be annoying for sure but overall I think he’s solid on the broadcast. Put him on the whiskey throttle show though and all he does is interrupt and try to make the show about him.

RD was obviously massively successful in the sport but that doesn’t mean fuck all for TV. And just because he’s RD doesn’t mean we should blindly support him.

Rd is not the answer and the best duo is in the booth. Dungey literally stumbles through what we already know. Its actually painful. I like j bone he brought some tech into it. Instead of the obvious or feelings that will and rd do. Nothing personal 😁

Jbone was great and cooler than dry ice on the mic

He’s the best since Bailey. It took Emig a decade to get where GL was his first year.

I got the impression that Dunge was just acknowledging that Langston would know about broken wheels as a former racer. I don’t think he was referring to the wheel incident that cost him a championship? Which is funny in itself.

Not only get rid of GL but add Ricky? Ya you are fired. You can't stand his accent? What is it with Americans having this issue with accents? That was the main complaint about Leigh during sx. People in other parts of the world talk with accents. Get over it

How'd this turn into a commentator bash? Lol.. I just laughed w little during the first moto is all. Wondered if anyone else had the same thought..

I dig RD's insight and think GL does a killer job too.. someone mentioned jbone.... I like the dude, but I don't think on the mic is the place for him..

Dungey’s brother is married to Langston’s sister I believe, so I’m sure Dungey can throw a little shit at Grant for fun if he wants.

He will be fine. It's a significant transition to go from answering questions on the podium to trying to remember what you are supposed to say when the red light turns on.

He’s been part of many broadcasts I doubt he gets to nervous

Trackside has got to real hard. Anything can rattle you. He is a pro racer not a broadcaster. Some of course are more natural than others but besides Langston I can't think of anyone recently who looked in their element. Blair does but he has probably had some training to workthis way in without the big name. Usually people who are too comfortable in front of the camera have lazy takes.

Maybe the production was ill prepared and he felt uneasy about his segment. It could be anything. he could have to take a leak or something else like that made him nervous. Maybe he didn't sleep at a holiday in, some great public speakers have stage fright and learned to power through it. If he wants to go this direction, he is a very good person to do it.

I noticed it, but I think he is still better than the lot.

Speaking of Blair when he filled in the host roll for sx he was the best commentator sx has had in a long time. Dunge just doesn’t have the personality or charisma and that’s ok, he doesn’t need and probably never would sign up to be a full time reporter for the series. Personally I’d like to see someone who is afraid to ruffle feathers like DV.

he is one of the best racers but also one of the worst speakers we have ever had, i was always a dunge fan of his riding but he is not right for this role. He has always been too politically correct, i never feel like he spoke what he was feeling as with yesterday he just feels like a robot reading lines, never natural. guys like brayton have a natural flow on the mic that dunge has never had

I lol when Dunge said that and then was ready for GL to go all Whiskey Throttle show and start talking about himself for 20 minutes….but NBC must have him on a tighter leash than Ping

Remember how bad Dungey used to be with podium interviews? I mean someone made a website called like "ShitDungeySays.com"

He's so much better at articulating now and I liked how he was talking about bike changes. Hope to have him back

Carmichael is also politically correct on the mic. But he is very opinionated off the mic. We saw a little bit of that during his racing days when a mic got put in front of him. It most likely isn't their choice to be as politically correct as they are, but an order from the NBC higher ups to not be controversial during the broadcast. Do I agree with it? No. Would RC love to be able to let it rip on the broadcast? I'm sure he would. But that's the sensitive world we are in now. All it would take is a team manager going to bitch because someone said something negative (albeit true) about their rider, and someone would lose their job or be forced to do an Instagram apology.
