Except the basis for most of it is false.

Like the part about no other major motorsports having entry fees. Either they are willfully lying, or woefully ignorant. You choose.

I only watched the first few minutes, but from what I heard I'd have to agree. To compare to other sports, the downhill mountain bike teams all race to put out their team edits from the race weekend. Some of them are very well done and great content to add to the limited coverage the sport gets. The AMA needs to allow it's participants to thrive or the whole ecosystem will suffer.

"Good information" and "Cooksey" is an oxymoron.

That's a serious cancel culture move right there. I was on the bench about Cooksey, and gave him the benefit of the doubt.
Now I'm not a fan since his entire motivation seems to be to stir the pot and be provocative for hits, but in the market place of ideas, trying to silence others for mere uniformed (and relatively harmless) opinions is a slippery slope.

He's always just been hot-takes with little to no facts. On here, on his appearances on Pulp, the times he's been on Main Event Moto, etc, etc. I'm curious to know, was he clipped by WPS? At some point running your mouth all over the industry catches up to you....

I couldn't answer your question. I don't really keep up with all those shows. I listen to PulpMX and WTS. But Cooksey and his cohorts seem to thrive on the TMZ type of reporting which is too bad because some of the issues they bring up warrant discussion, albeit in a more balanced and less accusatory tone.

I agree, if there was any sense of nuance and subtlety he would come off MUCH better. But he's been trying to ram his foot through the door into moto media for a while now and he has not figured out how to tame himself. It's almost as if he took Matthes' early Pulp persona (which was a lot more hot take) and turned the dial to 11 thinking if a little is good, then a lot is better. But even Steve slowly learned he has to report both sides, offer his opinion and not be stirring things as much. His overall vibe is much more neutral now and it's contributed to his success.

I was disgusted and stopped watching after the “Hitler” reference, but are they asking why riders can’t publish their own video without review from the sanctioning body? Am I understanding that correctly?

If that is the case then my question is do other motor sports allow drivers or riders to put up their own on board video with no review? How do they handle this in MXGP?
I honestly don’t know the answer.

Not related to the latest video, but the videos he posted this week are quite gold. I didn't know much about him but some questions or thoughts made me a fan, A+ on grit. Asking some hard questions, or questionable moves, will only make his followers base grow.

It's far from a 'free for all' with DH MTB coverage.

You'd be familiar with Ben Cathros' stuff? Well, he's been limited in his footage, at times. But, they've seen the benefit from his and others efforts being out there, and, opened things up a bit to him / them.

I'm not sure if it involves payment, or, being under, say, Red Bull's wings.

So, Pit / Team stuff, may have far less restrictions than SX / Outdoors, but, there are still 'rules' that have to be followed, and, it varies from one videographer / Team, to another(s) from what I can gather.

There are limits , be they by the UCI, or Red Bull ( or 'others' ) imposing them. But they are a bit less constricting, it seems, than those placed on SX / Outdoors.

Cooksey is the biggest no talent hack in the industry. It’s funny how anyone can show up off the street and claim to be a journalist.

It's a shame he's trashing the Cooksey name. There is another Cooksey, Andrew Cooksey at Cookseycrank.com who has a fantastic reputation as an engine rebuilder and business owner. Andrew and Chris are unrelated.

Why does Cooksey need to tell Hopper guys can’t point out of 250 outdoors?

Whoever this coach guy is claims Tomac was never offered a Kawi contract and was forced to take less money at Star as it was his only option.

Is this guy complete bullshit or is that how it went down? I'm not sure half the stuff this coach guy says is credible. He makes Cooksey not look as bad.

Also do tracks on the national level actually lose money every single year hosting a national?

They also said the rule was points for 3 years when it's actually 4.

I am guessing his mouth got him clipped by WPS how's that working out for him? I watched the you tube with him and coach Robb pretty much crying about the Butler Bros not paying Baggett and wondering if the gear manufacturer didn't pay them which is Fly racing the company that shit canned him. I was kinda Bummed to see Coach Robb linked to this idiot.
