I agree with you, I don't get to listen often, let alone to all of them, but this week's debate between DV12 and Rutledge was both hilarious and painful, and the DV12 and RC "GOAT" conversation was hilarious, and how can you not like Hunter Lawrence? That's as far as I've gotten but I agree, this week's show was exceptional.

2009 . . . "what's a podcast Steve?" I don't think folks appreciate enough what Steve has done for the sport and the sheer hustle it took . . . the interview podcasts are the closest we have to an oral history of the sport late 70's on, and that is a huge body of work wholly apart from the five billion PulpMX shows since then.

And for the folks redassed with Steve's non Moto opinions, whatever.

I started listening a few years in, and I asked the same question, and after listening to a few, I ultimately just went back to #1 and listened to them all. There’s some great episodes, like all the century episodes (100,200,300,400) and then ping was always great, DV, Denny.. Man, it really is great entertainment. Steve is a god damn PRO at this.

If you haven’t listened to the Reraceables podcasts yet, they are must listen. I usually start the podcast, then go to YouTube and watch the race, and then head back to the podcast. Weege and Steve call the guys racing to discuss the race (RC, Emig, JT, etc). It’s brilliant. The only way it could be better is if it was on video with clips of the race mixed in with the discussion. Feld would be stupid to not give these guys a bundle of cash to do one of these a week to run before the race.

Some of the best shows are during the off season, when they have no racing to report the show generally gets pretty loose, and could go in any direction.
Usually get some good laughs out of those shows.

The "Tagger king" reviews were funny.

I really look forward to them. I just like the vibe Matthes creates, even with less popular / entertaining guests. I always like when Keefer is on, Weege and JT are always solid. When you add a good guest like DV in there, it’s killer.

The looser episodes with people like RV are insanely good.

It’s always just good people who love moto and are knowledgeable about it shooting the shit.

And maybe I'm the minority here, but I wish RV and Jake wouldn't get completely trashed on the show. It always seems like one is about to tell a cool story, and then they either lose their train of thought, or the other interrupts.
One might say they rev out a bit fast. Whoever is mixing their drinks needs to take it easier next time so it takes them until the end of the shot to be blackout. Still great episodes, though.

It’s a shame that ping and Matthes don’t get on anymore as the two of them together were awesome shows , (on each other’s podcasts).

Dv is gold , and always look forward to him being on ,

On if my favourites, I think it's show 10, with Brian Deegan and it's one of the first where Vegas KDub steals the reigns from Paul Lindsay. There are some classic tales of big bores and track cutting from Kenny's days as Brian's mechanic.

Never been too big of a fan. If I'm Hunter Lawrence though, whatever I'm paying an agent, I'm spotting Steve a taste of that for the safety net idea. May have saved his career, possibly his life.

DV was 100% spot-on about the sport not being able to grow if the only way to watch it is by subscribing to Peacock. Get some airtime on a TV channel that everyone has access to, the way it used to be with SpeedTV. When any Joe-blow could be channel surfing on a Saturday night and see an epic battle between Reed and Stewart. That’s how you attract fans to the sport. DV nailed it. Fuck Peacock.

And anyone else realize he (Rutledge) was asked 1 question at the start of the show and his answer lasted 20 minutes? He went off in 10 different tangents and the guy just likes to hear himself talk.

I've been a listener since probably 2010 or so. Some of my favorite episodes are with David Pingree. The one where JT brought on some fancy work boot company on as a sponsor and ping just makes fun of the boots the whole time had me rolling. The early episodes with Preston, Wey, or Vuilleman are great. Some of the ones with Kenny are hit and miss. Anything with the Alessi's is worth watching.

They're hard to find but they used to do this thing called Classic Commentary where they'd watch an old race and talk over it like Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was before pulp was big and some of the stories told are hilariously inappropriate.

Not a PULP MX Show but if you haven’t listened to the Steve Matthes Show 2016 MxoN Review, do yourself a favor and do so. Hilarious!

I was away from the sport for a long time....probably 15 years. Pulp has been great for me getting back into the sport and learning who's who in the sport these days. The thing I appreciate most about Steve is his love for privateers and the exposure he gives them on his various shows. When I was really into the sport in the late 90s privateers were given zero thought by the main stream moto media. If there was a privateer in the top 5 of a semi I swear Eckman would completely ignore him most of the time.

My favorite guest hosts...

Weege
Keefer
DV
Clason
Aray
Starling
Perebijnos
Blair
JT
Weimer
Milsaps was awesome

Most annoying guest host goes to RV. My god, that guy cannot let anyone else talk. Even worse when he's drunk.

I enjoy it as im in my work truck a lot these days. DV is awesome, no real negatives on the show for me, besides the AC fanboy/ baseball catcher, just skip through that, once was enough of him imo.

I got in early and I've heard all of them. Nothing tops show 100 and the Denny/Chicken episode. Check out my boat dude!

I just got around to listening to the last weeks show with David Vuillemin today.

While I dont care for the constant product pimping from Steve Matthes, the brutal honesty and dry humor from DV was exceptional and funny- I would listen every week if David was on this show on the regular.
