wasn't Barcia on the podium a few times last year?

If Barcia stays top 5 off the start this year... I think he will be a front runner for most of the season.

Will be interesting to see how hard he fights for it in rounds to come. Does a leopard change its stripes? You could see clearly that Kenny wasn't willing to bump him, knowing full well what could/would come of it, especially with the stakes a lot higher for Justin with the whole three-peat thing on the table.

He almost certainly wins again. But no title.

its only 1 round, however with only a couple days off between rounds teams dont have a lot of time for testing and tuning, so those teams that did not get their set up correct may not improve. so I wouldnt be surprised to see Bambam on top of the podium again in houston.

I think he does.
I don’t know about win the championship but I do think he has now become a challenger.
Riding the ‘KTM’ is one more piece of the puzzle clicked in to place and he’ll be motivated to make it happen.

IF the "past is the best predictor of the future" as you say, then how would you explain Webb's '19 Championship win? I mean, he had less success than Barcia has currently before he snagged the championship.

And Tomac- he failed to win how many times despite being tipped as title favourite?

And going on Kenny's 'past', he'll never win the championship according to your theory, right?

Yeah, I think the mere fact that Team GasGas was on their A-game at H1 as far as their settings were concerned is a huge advantage for them, as well as Barcia being on it and comfortable. It’s clear he likes the bike & how he “fits” on the team. A lot of teams are probably scrambling to play catch up.

He was a second or so behind the champ when the checkers came out.

Barcia is a better man. More mature, and wants it more than ever. If he can keep his head screwed on and take 2nds and 5ths etc, and contest for wins, his title chances are very good. He’s on one of the best bikes now.
He got into it with AC during press day this week. The KTM is a good bike for him but let's not get carried away. He'll never change and is one race away from a meltdown at all times. He might win again but I think this season will have a lot of winners.

And riding on the ragged edge on the last lap to catch him and lap him. He pushed the front and I thought it was going to end in tears.

he will be threat to win every night until the tracks get hard. tracks always start out like this...fast, non technical...then they get harder and he will go inconsistent. /braces for incoming down votes.

Isn't Barcia one of the few to win his first pro race? I remember Tomac did, but did Barcia? Who else has done that?

He looked great last night, for sure. He'll soon have an off night and revert to his usual ways of racing backwards and riding like a dick. Downvoting ignores his history.

Yeah. When you raced him as a amateur and have seen him and his dad sleeping in the back of a completely roached out truck riding clapped out bikes putting every last cent they have into this. you get where his heart on the track comes from.
That's absurd. Plenty of (top) guys come from humble beginnings and don't ride like he does. To his credit, though, it seems to be working. Pretty sure Ken would have won on Saturday if he wasn't concerned with Barcia's retaliatory reputation.

I think Barcia is a baby that can't take what he dishes out, but do think he'll win again this year.

best looking bike on the track with or without the red plate.

I do think he'll win again though .

One thing about KR94 in my opinion.......he has no killer racing instinct. Barcia, Osborne, Webb, they have that "thing" that they want to win, and will make the pass. KR does not have that. Not sure if it was the crashes and injuries, but that is not there.

Just by the looks of the GasGas bike I want one. I don't care about performance 😂
