Not a suggestion at all, but at this point, I'm really surprised no one yet has gone to his shop to kick his ass.
Huh

I sent my motor to Varner in May of this year, don’t have it back and can’t get a hold of this guy. Should have done some more research to save myself this massive headache. Been calling this guy non stop for the past 2 months, only answered my call once. My situation is still not as bad as some others on here and I’m fucking frustrated. For those of you on here that have had this same problem, has anyone gone to his shop and tried getting it back in person. Have an annual trip coming up this March and need this motor back.

That’s my plan for this coming weekend, was wondering if someone else has done the same. Last option really, got a hold of him last week and scheduled a phone call update with terry for today at 10:00 AM. Have called 30 times today, no answer

Ok, here is some advice. When you go there this weekend, do NOT listen to his bullshit excuses. Take your shit, account for it all, and go elsewhere. However, I would show up on a weekday as a few on here see him every weekend at the race track.

Guarantee he won’t be at his shop. You’re better off going to Glen Helen as the first REM of the new year will be happening and he is more than likely going to that. It’s insane nobody has knocked his teeth in. Who cares how old he is or who he’s done motor work for. Dude is straight stealing from people.

More great Varner Motorsports Reviews coming in.

This is unbelievable, how can this guy show his face at race tracks with BS like this happening?

This right here. I can see if he has issues screwing people over, but you would think he would have a guilty conscience showing up at a race track each weekend racing and wrenching for people. Assuming all these people he hangs with are getting free work or something that they keep hanging out with him? I would be embarrassed being associated with him.

There's plenty of his close buddies to say he's the best and has never screwed them over. Im in total awe of how he isn't approached by a crowd of angry customers. Dudes trash.

Genuine question for people missing motors before people show up to his shop:

Do you know for sure he still has your motor, and didn’t send it to someone else or sell it?

Because that seems like a veeeeery good reason to avoid communication. Just figure that would be worth looking into but judging by this thread NOBODY knows what’s going on with their equipment.

This thread delivers. And like XR Mark said I’ve also seen him out at Glen Helen multiple times this year within the time this thread started.

Wonder why this thread isn't a pinned post?
Seems legit enough to me that it should be at the top for all to see.

Bad business is not what this sport needs.

Seems a past reputation gets you a free pass to do as you want/will.

Shameful.

All the more reason to show up at the shop and find out for sure.

He’s aware of the thread and asked the OP to take it down, rather than coming on here and explaining his actions. That tells me all that I need to know.

I wonder how long until the next bike build gets posted online with another Varner engine package by the great moto industry.......

He could have turned this thread into good PR for himself early on. If he had done some right things. Was a great opportunity for him. But, well, that didn't happen.

I think this guy strategically screws over people that are at least a few hundred miles away from SoCal and then provides top notch work/turnaround for people within close proximity. He knows it would be a hassle for someone to come a long way and spend all the money to get their stuff, but if they did, he knows he would have a lot of local muscle at the tracks that would protect him because of all the work he has done for them.

At this point, that's what I'm thinking. An addict wouldn't provide excellent work for some people and then just take money from others. An addict would screw everyone. This guy just thinks he's slick.

That's just my observation. Could be wrong. Could be right. Either way, this guy deserves a healthy diet of Gerber for the rest of his life if just half of the horror stories in this thread are true.

I’ve sat back for a couple days now watching this thread without commenting. I posted here in this thread for people to see help was available and, for everyone else I’m friends with to hold me accountable to my word. However, I have not once gotten a pm from anybody. I sent out two PMs and no response. For the third time tonight, my family has asked, do the guys want their engines back or not. Both my cousin and uncle have said, if I had an opportunity to get my engine back after waiting so long, fuck waiting till after the holidays, please get my shit!
I’m kind of at a loss myself not knowing whether to just say screw it, I gave you a chance or sit back and wait for that message at someone else’s convenience. Holidays or not, a simple hey, got the message, I’ll touch base with you soon and my name is whatever. Or, thanks but, no thanks.
8 days ago I said, we’d help. I know my post has been seen yet, nothing. The guy willing to go out of his way for the sake of decency really shouldn’t have to be the one reaching out, looking for updates within this thread and wondering if this is a waste of our time.

I didn’t care if it was one engine or ten. We were willing to make a run for you guys.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but Vitals PM system is a tub of shit or at least it was last time I tried to use it. FFS, there’s a sticky that explains how to use it because it sucks so hard.

I would have jumped on your offer in a heart beat. These people have the opportunity to get resolve yet stand silent. Must be the same guy that sits behind a parked car for an hour before he realizes its not gonna turn. I hope everyone gets their stuff back but being a nice guy at this point is Ludacris.

The problem is, situations like this can quite easily escalate. Sending people around for such a matter who've you've not even met can potentially create a legal risk that might not be the reward for an old dirtbike engine.

I have honestly thought this thread might be about sour grapes. No way in the world someone would keep my motor for a year or 2. Then someone offers to have family visit Varner and crickets.

On the flip side of that coin, wasn’t that the reason this thread was started? Seeking help. I do understand your perspective however.

You might be right. Its sad that this thread has been going so long, with no resolution and the mx industry pulling the wool over customers eyes so they unknowingly walk off a cliff

The OP got his stuff back. It took awhile but, he did receive most, if not everything from Varner. I knew there were a couple others out there seeking a resolution so, I figured why not offer some help. Either way, we tried. Happy Holidays man.

I was bored so I went back through this thread to see who posted they were waiting on Varner, below are the results:

Kowalczyk579 - Started the thread and eventually got his motor parts back, I believe it was 9 months.
wadmaster11 - Got his back eventually after close to 2 years
cmotodad - Got his back after a couple months
607 Collective - Still waiting after 2 years.
EJRACING - Lives in Norway and after a year is still waiting.
jswalter4729 - Been waiting since May of this year.

I would say it wasn't just one person who had problems with Varner, there were others who posted long delays but just chalked it up to doing business with him.

I've come to the conclusion that if Tom Morgan retires I will ride stock bikes.

Thanks for Chance1216 and his family for making an effort to help.

I had a long talk with Terry the day before Christmas. It appears we have a resolution in the works for after the New Year. He sent pictures of the motor. I could see my serial number. So it's there.

I won't go into details about the resolution till it's done.

Again many of you are now getting what has happened. And a lot of non related posts aren't happening.

Instead of a long talk maybe he should have been working on peoples motors. Stop being so soft with this guy, he's a damn thief...
