This is at Fator’s Suzuki/KTM/Husky/GasGas in Redding, California. It was ridden by Cory Fator and was extremely well maintained and built right. As I recall, it’s got some kinda cool guy billet head, V-Force Reed-Cage (fresh reeds), New Pipe, New Wheels, Guts seat, some kind of Moose pipe tip that looks like it’s a spark-arrestor (?), proper IMS pegs, fresh looking plastic, new tires...yada, yada, yada...
49.6 hours
$7,000
Sounds like a good deal to me!
Psssst...I also saw some cool new bikes: a KTM ISDE Edition 500...a 125 XC...even a big wheel Husky 85...even saw a little DRZ 50!

Uh, sure, but...

Have any of you bought a new bike in the last few months? Whistling

You know, in a world where people are paying $11-12K out the door for a new 450? They had a new TC250 go out the door for $9,600

New YZ250s are going out the door for $8500.Huh
I found a YZ65 for a friend the other day: $5K!!!

I recently bought an RM125 from the same guy that rode this TC...I was offered $1,500 more than I paid before I'd even loaded it up and took it home. Grinning

Anyways, this TC is SUPER CLEAN and sounds insanely good.

That's not a good deal, even in California.

$7,000 for a bike with 50 hours on it is a good deal? And those foot pegs look extremely dull.

Not saying it’s a bad bike, it looks well cared for. But that definitely seems like a current price tag rather than a good deal.

I had a guy tell me he got a brand new yz250 for 5000 OTD this spring. So I asked for a picture of the bike and invoice... think I got either? Nope. Because he didn’t buy any bike. He was just trying to get my price on my 19 lower.

I’m convinced half the guys around here don’t actually buy new bikes, or haven’t in years, but spew numbers they’ve seen people say they got their bikes for. But those guys are also making this shit up or dreaming. How come we never see invoices and pics of these insane deals? $6000 for a 21 YZF450 OTD? Cool lets see the invoice.

Cali bike prices must be insane. That said there is a huge demand right now so prices are driving up. I had to drive 12 hrs from my home in Nevada just to get a yz125 this summer. It was either that or pay almost 2 grand more here in Reno

I just sold a 17 ktm 350sxf for $5900 with 17 hours on it with $300 in brand new extra parts and guards.

So yeah from where I’m at 50hours for 7gs is high. Oh and the 350s retail is what 2k more than a tc250s?

I know the market is different there and that’s from a dealer but it just isn’t a great deal any way you slice it.

At $11-$12k for a new 450 I’d be walking away without a new bike. I love riding and racing, but I’ll stick with an old clapped out bike instead of paying $11-12k for a brand new bike.

The fact that we are at the point of willing to pay $12k for a new bike is just telling dealers and manufacturers that they can continue raising prices and we won’t say or do anything about it.

For every willing seller, there is a willing buyer. Bikes are priced a little weird throughout the country. And with a limited supply and decent demand, price is gonna be higher. The manufacturing slowdown from COVID-19 and trade war isn't helping matters either.

Phew, this makes me happy to have paid $4600 even out the door on my son's YZ65.

Preach it that's why I'm still riding a 2011. A new bike is not going to make me $10k worth of faster.

Not one of these 2021 bikes can do something my (mint) 2008 RM250 can. Until something different is on the market, (electric) then I won’t buy another new bike. (I’ve had 18 brand new mx bikes in my lifetime so far)

A huge part people are glossing over is credit. Most people don’t pay cash for dirt bikes anymore and don’t care about the OTD price - only what the monthly payment will be. The bike isn’t paid off half of the time. Dirt bikes are inelastic, so dealers will charge whatever they want because some goof will pay it.

Side note: I just picked up a showroom condition 17 YZ250 with less than 1 hour and TONS of extra stuff with it for 6300.
