Due to Covid restrictions. The Firepolice mx.com Christmas GP has been cancelled. Too bad. It's a fund raiser for childrens charities.
Nothing on social media yet but the word went out to the promoter of the event.

Hmm...how so? I could see CA (an entire state, btw) literally inching closer to Detroit (a city) from a geological standpoint over the course of a few million years, but other than that...

Why not still donate then to the charities?

Never mind. It appears CA and Detroit will be slightly further apart in 250 million years.

Fortunately, it looks like Colorado will become some type of inland sea. Surf's up, brah!

With all we know about the virus and how it spreads, outdoor events with little crowding should be allowed to go on with safety measures in place.

I'll expand. The first picture is the site this dude got his data from, that data was obtained thru Facebook survey, but its probably relatively accurate. The second picture is 7 day average of cases per capita from the CDC website. As you can see there is a strong correlation between more masks=less cases percapita, less masks=more cases per capita.

Glen Helen is closed only to overnight camping only. The promoter of the Fire and Police cancelled his event not Glen Helen. The promoter of the scrambles race I understand canceled her race for the same CoVid reasons. They are open to race and practice unless someone cancels their event.
Maybe Myron started another rumor.

What if it’s enforced by a Marshal, or a guy named Marshall?

Good to hear GH is staying open, it is hypocritical to have stores and in person learning in schools open, and close a track where no rider gets close to any other rider.

Golf courses are still open, and those guys get closer than MX riders do to each other...

I don't know about the rest of the country, but in SE PA masks have been required in every place of business since April. Most people even wear masks while outside in public. Yet somehow we are experiencing a spike similar to Feb/March before the restrictions. Obviously people can do what they want in private, however you would think the numbers would decrease, not increase. There's probably other variables to consider as well, but masks/social distancing doesn't seem to be helping as planned any longer. Now that the temp is dropping in the 20-30s, maybe it'll keep people inside and numbers will drop again.

Yeah, they've been saying that since the 1930's.

And yet for all its shortcomings, the state continues to grow into the 5th largest economy in the world, in three years it will be ahead of Germany.

How long do we wear the mask? Forever? or until everyone is vaccinated which isn't the final cure fyi. The Governor who wants you not to be manly wearing a mask doesn't even wear a Mask so OBVISOULY he doesn't believe in non manly masks either LOLOL

People need to decide what is BEST for Themselves because nobody else is doing so

Not being able to hold an event and being closed are different. I think GH is still able to be open for ride days. Fox raceway is till open. Yes it is Indian land, but outdoor activities can still be going on. Big Bear and Mammoth mountain are open for snowboarding and skiing.

I live in Arizona and people by the vast majority wear masks here in public and have for the last 6 months (everyone in our house wears masks and has worn masks the whole time). I travel to CA for work all the time and I've seen no difference in masking policy or execution from state to state. Same goes for what I've experienced in NV and OR through my recent travels in the last few weeks. All of the states are experiencing spikes of increases in cases. I see no correlation between wearing a mask (or not wearing a mask), and case rate increases. And I've had Covid as did everyone in our house, and everyone got through it perfectly fine - including my parents both of which are in their mid 70s both of which have comorbidities. When one person in the house caught it, we all wore masks and isolated the person who had it in the attempt to not spread it. I have time release chlorine dioxide packets throughout our house and around the return air vents for the HVAC returns. All that precautionary steps made no difference. Everyone eventually got it, got over it, and is better now. Kids, wife, and parents (were visiting at the time). I can see how a mask helps to slow down the spread, thus the reason why we wore and still wear masks (even though we've already had it and have anitbodies now). But trying to correlate masks wearing and transmission rates is an exercise in futility based on our experience. We do it to comply and not make a stink.

Back on topic, sucks they shut the event down. I can see why though, just sucks.
