A reason that didn’t have the same effect on the other 3 manufacturers in the same country?

Nope, didn’t have an effect on any of the other manufacturers at all.

Honda delivered two all new models and more of their existing bike. Suzuki did neither. Yamaha delivered all their old bikes and an updated 250f, ktm launched a new brand and delivered their current bikes, Kawasaki launched an all new 250, an updated 450, and off road versions of each. Suzuki didn’t even deliver their current models which are in their third and fourth years.
If You are not going to Buy them ,why complain

This machine is more than adequate for 95% of us vitards. Like 760a said, price alone should sell these bikes if Bob Barker was in charge.

Agreed! If I were in the market for a 450, I would buy one and with the savings I gain over the others I would get top notch suspension work, new tires and a slip on and gladly use the kicker as I am never in a crunch as to where the e button would be a factor...But, please do carry on about how inadequate they are for the consumer

Actually I was in the market a couple months ago but the one or two I could find were priced too close to the yz and kx.

In my opinion, I don't see the value in constantly bashing Suzuki's BNG strategy. It helps keep development costs down which means RMZs will continue to have affordable MSRPs. There are tens of thousands of bikes sold every year because they are the most affordable bikes available. If Suzuki ever stops production or increases their MSRP to match all the other OEMs, we are going to lose the most affordable bike option there is which could really hurt at the amateur level.

I've always wondered how many bikes Suzuki would sell if they would offer the 250 under $5000 MSRP and the 450 around $5500?

Its not going to hurt anything at the amateur level. I bet at a race with 400 entries there might be 6 suzukis there in Ohio these days. And those 6 are usually in the vet class.

Anybody tried a 2020 RMZ250? They are going for $2k less than other 250Fs around here. For a Vet B rider, the bike is probably fine, but I'm afraid it will be slower and heavier than my trusty RM250 two-stroke.

Probably easier to lay down the power than the 2t if the track is very slick. Maybe better suspension too.

Not true. The RMZ250 doesn't weigh the same as the other Japanese bikes...

(It is the lightest Japanese bike.)

In the 2020 mxa shootout it was 5 lbs heavier than the kx250 and the same weight as the YZ250. crf was 2 lbs heavier.

Kx250 gained over 5 lbs for 2021. Now the RM-Z is the lightest Japanese bike (but not by much).

The only thing that bugs me about the Suzuki is they call it an RMZ 450 when it should properly be called an RM450.

I keep seeing 2020 RMZ250 wet weight as 233 lbs. and rated about 36-39 HP.
My 2004 RM250 is 211 pounds dry (can only find dry weight figures right now) and I have dyno'd this bike at mid 40s in the HP.

Like I every year, I can't justify spending $6000-$8000 for a new 250F when my RM is lighter, faster, no bike payment and I can tear the whole engine down myself. I always end up sticking with my old iron. Somebody tell me where my reasoning is off. Keep in mind I'm mid-pack Vet B right now. I'm sick of this bike but it gets me around the track for almost no money. The forks are revalved and effing awesome, too.

If you want a new bike that is more powerful than all the 250f bikes then you can buy a 250 (yz, sx, tc).

Just had a new 2020 RMZ 250 delivered, was $5870 plus the usual charges. I also have a very sweet 07 RM250 but have been riding a 07 RMZ 290 since new. Before that was a dozen new RM 250s. At sixtyfour I'll have to admit it's way easier to go fast on an RMZ. Has a lot to do with my two stroke skills diminishing though. Have to say the RM feels way faster but after spending too much time on a four stroke it's hard to go back for an occasional two stroke blast.

They should copy Yamaha and just release their 2006 two strokes. They would sell.

Good on you for hitting the track at 64! I'm 53 and that's encouraging. I'd love to roost another 10 years!
Good point about the RMZ being easier to ride.
