Without a doubt.. A year ago I would've said Forkner will give him competition but I don't see him getting through a full season healthy. JMart will smoke everyone in 2021.

Forkner's gotta figure out how to minimize the damage. He reminds me of JS7 with this win or crash mentality he seems to have. If he could back it off 20% & salvage some points, I think he could have won the SX title this last season & the season before. He's been the guy to beat in SX the last two years but almost always takes himself out of it.

That almost got ugly at the 1:33 mark.

Comparing this to the Troll Train videos from Outdoors, it looks like he's not working nearly as hard to go fast as he did on the Honda.

Crazy to think that Forkner has not raced an outdoor since Ironman 2018. To me, his career is right at the edge of recovery, kind of like where Cianciarulo was in 2016.

Random other silly season thoughts: I think McElrath will find a way to race the full outdoor schedule, on a fill-in or something. His outdoor results this year were an improvement in race to race consistency. With Savatgy, Tickle and Hartranft still unsigned that HEP spot must be surprisingly valuable, no way Pipes could have predicted this at the start of 2020. Seems like Savatgy was not very happy with JGR and/or the Suzuki, I wonder if there is only yellow bikes left if he ends up odd man out. If I'm JGR I'll take a guy like Tickle all day over Joey (representation and professionalism), and I could see HEP taking Hartranft as he would be relatively inexpensive.

Hartranft tested the HEP bike and said it was really good apparently. But seems like he would go to SGB.

I am kinda surprised he would jump up to the 450 class. He was doing very well in the 250 class but I guess if there is a 450 ride available it worth taking.

Desalle seems interesting for a outdoors contract, what would be a option for him?

MX Vice hinted that he is interested in a US nationals fill-in ride for 2021. Retired from MXGP, but he might not be retired from racing yet.

What spots are still open? High end possible factory talent left, Savatgy, Bogle, Tickle?

I would hope Rocky Mountain KTM. I know Bagget has to have his spot locked. It seemed KTM was pretty involved with him giving him a factory 250sx for RBSR. Times change but he's a big dude and killed it at RBSR, hopefully he moves up with a ride. Maybe Tedder KTM makes a spot.

I'm thinking that he'll take a few races to warm up, but I would be surprised if he doesn't get on a podium by the midway point of the SX schedule. I don't think he'll be consistently on the podium every week, but by the start of 2022 he'll be a podium contender each weekend.

I think if he can figure out his starts & get over what has plagued the last few 250 yamaha champs (Webb & Plessinger) coming up, then I think he can win a race in his rookie season. Not a big fan of the guy, but he's got the best chance to be a rookie sensation if he can control it.

Love that side number plate design! Wonder if the half white/black backgrounds are a reference to Dylan moving up into the 450's from the 250's, or simply a design cue to allow for bigger numbers on the ever shrinking side panels?

Oh btw looks comfortable.

Simply a design. AC and Tomac have the same look on their Kawasaki's.

Something to think about the Star guys. In the past the star guys that raced star 450s (Not factory yamahas) like coop at MXDN, MXGP, Japan and Dylan at Bercy last year, they’ve looked good.

What's plagued them was the Yamaha 450.
If Dillon was on a KTM450, I'd say he'd be a regular podium threat. On the Yamaha... top 10s
