Honda runs off riders when they think they are getting past their prime, look at RC and McGrath and both went on to win lots more championships, don't really see them going after Tomac who is getting close to calling it a career.

Sexton is good, but he doesn’t feel ‘class of the field’ good to me. We shall see.
Dudes raced 4 rounds on the 450 and hes only 21.... give him a chance. hes got a long career ahead of him.

Christian Craig has been given what, like 6-8 chances with Honda? Seems like it, anyway.

Trey Canard...

I have noticed that as a rule, a rider rides for factory Honda once, no re-hires.

Yea but do any factory team really re-hire? Maybe exclude the deano and husky situation lol.

a good point there, most US factory riders either ride for one brand (e.g. Ward, Glover, Bailey, etc) or ride 1-2 brands....the factory life is often a short finite period of time. The only rider I know has gone a lot between brands is the likes of Reed, Stewart and Barcia ...I am sure there are a lot more.

I think Sexton’s coach think he’s got a chance at being the next big thing.

McGrath left Honda because of the aluminum frame. He ran the 93 frame until the aluminum frame cane out and Honda wouldn’t let him run the 93 frame any longer. That’s why he started his own deal. Honda didn’t run RC off at 23-24 yrs old. Some of the crap people make up is hilarious.

They brought McGrath back, and hired Canard as a test rider. How many other teams have let a rider go, to then re-sign them later? Seems like a rare instance no matter the manufacturer.

Edit- looks like everyone already made my points.

They didn't? RC said he was willing to give up a lot of money from Suzuki just to stay with Honda, and they wouldn't give him anything other than, "Well I guess you've got a choice to make." because they wanted James.

Tomac and Kawi just go together. He’s comfortable on it and the team, he won’t switch.
