The tree that Bogle's bike hit at the start of Moto 2 has to go.

I know what you mean. There have only been a few thousand races at the same track over several decades. But this one single instance where a rider made a mistake clearly shows it needs changed....

I fuckin saw it with my own eyes, that tree lashed out just as Bogle came past.

I mean no disrespect to the riders, Track owners or MX Sports. My comment was based on the fact that Turn two at any track can be chaotic. On the first lap bumping and banging in turn two can be just as great or worse than in turn one.

If this was a tree on the inside of a turn on the back side of the track I wouldn't comment.

Riders do make mistakes and if the margin for error and rider safety can be increased then it should be looked at. I'm not the only one that wants to protect the riders. There are already hay bales placed there.

I have vivid memories of magazine photos of riders negotiating around the trees at a couple of tracks.

Anyway trees don't seem to bother those pussy enduro riders.

Sooo, do you recommend the GNCC guys race in an empty field?

Remember when Tomac hit the tree located at Buckley's berm at Southwick? It's still there, undefeated.

The GNCC guys DO start in an empty field. The riders get thinned out before they go into the woods.

Read my post: Lap-One ---Turn-Two of a National Motocross is what I am talking about.

GNCC Start

A couple of hay rolls could solve the problem.

But I think that there would be a benefit to moving the inside of that turn 10-15 feet away from that tree. With that speed, and that amount of chaos........pretty simple remedy to improve safety.

That wasn't Buckley's berm at Southwick where he hit the tree. Still a good joke though

Watched the replay and it looks like Tomac moved left into Bogle's line and that's why he over braked.

Not saying it's Tomac's fault. Yes, it's Moto and people will take your line. Just sayin that when it's that crowded the chances of something going wrong go up.

That prang came out on private footage I think.

IIRC he hit it well high.

You gonna make me a tree hugger with this nonsense.

On a side note, I think Bogle gonna have a hard time finding a ride for next year /:

I think we need to sit and evaluate the intent of the tree.

Was it the tree's intent to be hit by Mr Bogle?
It never intended to harm anyone

Maybe, Mr Bogle attacked the tree!! The innocent tree!! Hanging with his tree buddies, when it was hit out of the blue by Mr Bogle.

Tree seems innocent to me

Matthes should interview the tree to get to the root of it. I bet the tree wood leave if he could, but he’s just afraid he’ll get board at a new place. I’m stumped on what to do.

No need to go out on a limb, just stick to it or you’ll get the chop.

Maybe the tree will log in here. It’s almost Septimber, which is a poplar time for trees to be leaving.

If Bogle hits the tree and nobody saw it, did it really happen?

This is how fear became a virtue.

If you're not afraid of what I'm afraid of, you're wrong, unsafe, and therefore a bad person according to my paradigm.

A couple of hay rolls could solve the problem.

Remember when Justin Barcia hit one at Freestone halfway around the first lap and bounced over into Marvin Musquin, breaking his hand? That was a rolled hay bale that didn't budge an inch. It didn't solve a problem, it created one.
