Just when i thought “captain covid” (inslee) couldn’t get any more irrational or illogical... he goes and proves me wrong... again. He issued an update that mx facilities as well as OHV parks (as well as numerous other outdoor activities) are now no longer allowed to operate in phase 2 of washington’s literally impossible to achieve covid program. Better yet, the out of touch governor decided that bowling alleys and museums are ok within phase 2. What in the actual hell is going on? Its ok to participate at indoor activities but go to an outdoor facility like an OHV park and never come within 100s or maybe 1000s of feet with another soul and that is NOT ok? I really do believe that he no longer possesses the ability to think logically. This is the same bastard who claimed 3 days in that he had no idea about CHOP taking over a section of his state’s largest city.

On a side note... his choice in face masks always makes him look like he is wearing children’s panties on his face.

Guessing this had something to do with scaring MX Sports away from the washougal national. Tho now its “conveniently” slated to take place after the national was to take place.... and announced just in time to make it impossible for a scramble to get it together.

wow... what a sad sad sad time. Idaho is looking like a nice place to go right about now. To be fair, there are a fair bit of tracks in Washington that are in counties that are in phase 3, which should let them operate still. It's only a matter of time until oregon tracks are shut down the same way.

That really sucks. Big time. I haven't had much of a chance to ride this year and was planning on hitting Capital Forest in the next week or two. What is the reasoning? And screw bowling. Looks like another road trip to So Cal is happening sooner then planned. I cannot express how pissed i am right now. I really hope rivers for salmon fishing don't get closed. Salmon are just showing up.

This state is going to shit at an even greater clip than the most cynical would have thought. Idaho or Montana are in my near future

I’m trying to decipher the wording on the update.

It almost sounds like you can ride, but that “ spectators, camping, races, and events are not allowed“. The grammar in the update is horrible, so it’s hard to tell. If you read the whole document it sounds like a track could still be open for practice, but couldn’t hold an ‘event’.

Same with OHV trails.

I wish that they would clean up the word salad on the update, because it definitely isn’t clear.

I dont know if it would or not... especially if the reasoning behind his decision really did have anything to do with him not wanting to allow a motorsport in his state televised on national TV. And if that is the case, what he is doing is criminal. Think about how much money the huffmans had to lay out in advance to host the race... and now how much money they are out due to political motivation/reasons. If this holds any merit, the man deserves to go to jail.

I am currently watching 3 friends lose everything because that asshole thinks their line of work is not essential. Never mind the fact that their businesses are 10 times cleaner and more safe than the local walmarts or home depots.

Here’s the parts of the update applying to karts/ohv/etc.

It sounds like they are still allowed to be open, but no spectators, camping, etc besides immediate family. Technically I guess that means you couldn’t travel to the practice track with a group of buddies, but I’m not sure if you’d need to provide a birth certificate to prove you are all brothers or not.....

I dont think so... notice the word “and”

It says mx ohv facilities AND non spectator sports are not allowed. Everything at the top of the first page in bold is not allowed... those are the changes... everything under it is dated from 5/20 and what was originally allowed.

But yeah.... so confusing

This was directed toward chance1216’s post about the fishing protests

The “and” is what makes me think that it is just clarifying that there can’t be spectators, camping, races, and events at the 3 types of facilities that it lists. It’s a clarification, not a complete new restriction.

But it is worded so terribly that I actually think the KHQ site misinterpreted it.

Hopefully.

@ GJ. Who knows. I honestly think with the support of the many MX clubs throughout the state, several people stating the obvious and bringing up the issue, is better then being silent.
A buddy of mine just closed his plumbing shop in Vancouver Wa.
Builders quit paying him, shut their doors after filing bankruptcy and reopened under new names. Shady.

It seems to me that most of the people here on the east side are conservative but King County is able to out vote us. For that we have a control freak for a Governor. I really have a hard time seeing how it is his right to just shut down the small businesses for whatever reason he chooses. I thought we the people had a right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness and to me riding would be included in that. I think he should get off his high horse and just let people live.

Thank you, and I am sorry for what's going on out there in Washington right now. It's also cost us our own race at High Point. And Hangtown. And Unadilla, Southwick and Budds Creek... We will be back in 2021, and hopefully it will be the biggest and best Washougal ever. And High Point, Unadilla, Southwick, Budds Creek...

I don't see where it's saying no practice days or being able to go ride orv trails for the day? It seems like it reads no competition no events no camping again and tracks must continue to follow guidelines for social distancing and such.

Seems like maybe it's a reaction to Sturgis, he doesn't want photos or videos like that coming out of his state.

Speak with your county Sheriff. He can refuse to comply with any non constitutional law.

I’m confused by the wording....it doesn’t state tracks are closed...just “no events”

I don’t know if a track just being open for a practice day would be considered an event? But surely something like Devols Top Gun coming up Labor Day weekend is an event....

Ours did and now faces two recall efforts.

Huge respect for him standing up for what’s right and for bringing the hypocrisy of Inslee and his piss-ant AG to the forefront.

IN Washington State there were more deaths from all causes in the first half of 2017 than the first half of 2020. This is from data pulled from the CDC website. Shouldn't a "Pandemic" increase the overall death count? -

No. But I hear it's good.

Ya'll just remember Idaho is full of grizzly bears, wolves, neo-nazis and rednecks. No need to come here, we got our own problems to deal with. Montana is a much nicer place.

People aren’t “out & about” as they’d usually are; so, I’m quite sure that’s cut WAY down on the causality.

I noticed you got down-voted for stating the obvious. Isn’t the “common narrative” wonderful?
