Just picked this up today. I’m excited to give it a shot! I’ve been on Yamaha’s the last several years. Any input or guidance from all of you Kawi riders, feel free to give me some setup pointers.

Congrats on the new bike!

Whats the subframe muffler mount look like? I wonder if they changed it under the radar.

Awesome! I am waiting to hear back from Kawasaki and my local shop about the 21 450XC. I am looking forward to going back to a Kawasaki after many years on KTM and others...

Get the correct spring rates installed for your weight and run it! I picked up a leftover ‘19 earlier this year and I can honestly say that I’ve never been more comfortable on a bike.

Congrats!

That 143+ page thread is a good source of info, but a long read!

Here are the cliff notes:

- Suspension
- Re-map ECU
- Subframe muffler bracket fab
- Swap out judder spring for clutch plate
- 51T rear sprocket
- TM Designs chain guide
- 240mm rear brake conversion

Good luck!

The ‘21 has an all new clutch with cone spring so should be no need to swap that out.

I’ll have to see what people are doing to fix it.

If you leave the stock pipe on it's fine. I'm at 50hrs on my 19 no probs. If you go aftermarket exhaust people get the bracket welded and braced.

And yes grease the whole chassis. My steering bearings usually last about 20hrs before getting notchy.

Congratulations! Let us know what you think. It’s the best bike out there right now. Excited to see how the Honda is. Here’s a torque spec guide for you to save. Comes in handy

Just listened to Keefers podcast. He really likes the ‘21. Sounds like the clutch and bar change make a bigger difference in how the bike rides than you’d think.

Guessing OP has a good connection with his local dealer. They are that much before fees and tax from my research. I believe the number was $8430 to be exact.

I’m posting this to try and help anyone out. The dealership won’t up charge customers because they’re a volume dealer. If you pay cash, they won’t charge you sales tax. As you guys can see, I live in Virginia and the dealer is in WV.
Hope this helps.

I was just at the dealer and pulled the clutch a few times on the 21.....why is the damn thing still twice as hard to pull as a cable clutch? I personally never had the slightest trouble with the KX450F cable clutch but think the juice clutch pull is far from an imprvement

I've never been a fan of the feel of hyrdo clutches. They always felt heavier to me.

I had put in the full Hinson setup and was disappointed in the clutch pull (recent dislocated wrist so this is an issue for me). I switched to the Rekcluse Torq-drive dealio (still used the Hinson basket) and it has been perfect.

so it cost you $700 to fix the hydraulic clutch BS, which replaced the lightest pulling , most trouble free cable clutch ever on older KX450F's. sounds typical.... lol

I have a 19 KX 450 with a stock clutch. It's got a nice, smooth pull. I like it much better than my 16 KX.
