No- you have never had shingles, I take it. Your skin erupts in very painful blisters, it's a nightmare. There is no way I would even consider getting on a motorcycle with shingles.
Semics was probably right, although didn't Roczen just get an extended break with a few months off? If he has serious chronic immune deficiency issues he will need a long, long time to get better. I have seen it with people I know, so it makes sense that a few weeks off didn't make a difference, especially if he kept up his normal training routine.

Poor Kenny, I really hope he skips outdoors this year and focus on his health and give it a new shot next year.

Then got opthalmic shingles a few years ago where it comes out through your eye and onto your face...was onto it very quick and got the anti viral medicine..opthalmic shingles can send you blind if you dont catch it early

Yep, had the same thing about 25 years ago when I was early 30's.

They warned me I could lose vision but other than my eye still seeming to water before the other my eye made it through ok.

Had them all over my forehead too, and all this time later my forehead itches when I get nervous or stressed. Completely ruined my hopes of being a professional poker player...

I feel for kr94, but his best bet now is probably to sit out and rest and try to be ready for the outdoors. The body aches and fatigue will most likely be too much.
Wow guess I'm not the only one lucky enough to have them in my eye. Unsure

Was in my early 20's about 1985 time frame and yes you can go blind.

If you add limegate into problems with his body going through the wringer, is this ‘just’ another issue he will need to overcome??

Had shingles last year. HORRIBLE experience

Had shingles on top of my head! Bad! Zapping my brain! Shingles is toxins trying to get out, ken is using something toxic to his system, he has to detox.
Had a friend who had it and he sweared that nurofen zavance stopped it fast! I didnt believe him, but i was desperate as suicide was an option , especially with it on my head! I did nurofen, it worked within hours! Cured it within days. Got back on my mtb and sweated the shit out. Toxic build either caused by chemical or stress.

Had em a couple of years ago. Very mild for me. Hardly noticed anything. One of my moto bros also had them. Guy is a rock. Very fit. He was in agony for a couple of months. Hits different people differently. Hope Ken's in the mild category.

He was riding groms with brayton and his kids this morning so maybe it's settled down.

He can't catch a break.

Sure is different now with the riders. In the old days people like Chad Reed would never say a thing if he was hurt or sick. He did not want to show any weakness to the other riders.
Going backwards and being lapped twice screams volumes, no need to admit to anything.

I don't care if he had shingles or whatever else, this dude has overcome so much and still battles daily so I have nothing but respect for him. Yeah I'm a team green guy but you can't deny someone's perseverance and dedication to this sport. You can call it "excuses" but the guy never quits. Personally I wish he would take a year off to get himself healthy but anyone here who actually races and has dealt with sponsorship obligations knows that's not an easy option.

I don't want him to beat Tomac but I still respect the hell out of him and hope he does well.

Not sure if you’re just being an ass or if you’re serious... but either way, your grammar needs some serious attention !

I was making a point about Kenny’s bad luck, settle down and don’t be so sensitive.

I had shingles when I was 9 yrs old, in the summer. Bad divrorse, our dairy farm was for sale, etc. I had to do all the field work, operating tractors, drive a truck to feed mill, milk cows my Mother helped. I had to everything basically. I didn,t think shingles was much at all. I,m sure ken94 will be just fine.

He’s probably just not a pussy like most these days and by the looks of it Kenny WILL be just fine like he said. I mean he did win the race right?

Yeah, you are right....all of us adult men who have described the details of our cases of shingles are all pussies.

It was good to see Kenny win, shingles or not. It is impressive that he turned things around from his recent struggles.

But I will say that it must have been a pretty mild case of the shingles.

It has floored a lot of pretty tough people.

Yup, for sure. Most of the people I know with really bad cases tend to be older. Let’s face it, how bad could it have been for him to get the win compared to his last couple races.

Yes, I know of some older people that had a bad time with it but also someone in their 40's and all they had was one small spot and really no issue dealing with it.

Symptoms can vary greatly just as CV can.
