Sweet. Forgot about that movie. Going to watch tonight. I know it’s going To be cheesy but can get my moto fix in so I don’t care. Still gonna be cool to watch.

No racing movie is ever going to be truly “accurate”, and people who follow the type of racing featured can always point out the discrepancies all day long.

Just watched this movie this morning, and it wasn’t too bad. Not an Oscar candidate by any stretch of the imagination, but entertaining at least.

The whole thing is actually really smart. It was an advertisement for Lucas Oil, without it being an over-the-top advertisement for Lucas Oil. Forrest Lucas was pretty smart to make this movie to help the Lucas Oil investment in the Nationals reach a larger audience than it otherwise would. Great job of thinking outside the box, so to speak.

I actually thought the movie was pretty good. Of course there were a couple parts that made me roll my eyes, but for the most part, the main actor wasn’t a massive cheese ball, the owner of the shop was actually pretty cool and funny.

I thought he had some cool parts. I liked the part where he stood up for Bennett and the guy backed out of buying the A-Kit suspension.

I didn’t like how the whole “gang” rolled up on motorcycles lol. It was kind of a corny part.

And one thing I didn’t like was how at the end they used pro national footage and acted like the actors were the riders. Dry

The parts where they raced before the final race was pretty good though. I enjoyed seeing those parts.

I understand that it is quite expensive to act that one out but I was let down a little cus of that.

But to conclude my thoughts on the movie, it was definitely a worth watch.

I remember the day they were filming part of it. It was an REM UnRace day. I noticed the second time I watched it I have a 3 sec cameo loading up my bike. A couple REM guys have a speaking part at sign up (shoulda used Myra or Frank - but they probably refused) and are announced as temporary leaders in one of the races. (Robert P - well deserved for all the volunteer track prep he does) Terry V. is also in a lot of the scenes - even gets to dot someone's eye. I like the fact they mention REM and the track by name and even show an REM plaque and that Pasha number L7 got lots of play. A little cheesy but the closest to reality as far as capturing the spirit of racing to all the other moto movies IMHO, but I'm a little biased.

It actually wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be, glad I finally got the chance to watch it. The Cyrus character was great. I also didn’t know you could buy KYB A kit suspension from your local dealer. And yes Marshall keeps his chains VERY clean.....

This flick would have been 4 stars if they would have only kept a few of those corny amateurish things out of it ..like the chain cleaning more than once and the 2 stroke sounds at the worst possible time...How does this sort of thing even make in the final product. WOW..I did like the part where the old man heard him fire up that bike for the first time after the accident and was like oh crap, here we go. That was awesome...Great movie could have been so much better with just a few things being more realistic..

Saw it last night. Maybe it's the lock-down, but I really liked it. So did my wife and daughter.

I don't want to be "that dude", but I have explained this many times. You don't hear thumper sfx in a movie because the sound waves/hertz range are too overpowering to mix with dialogue, bg sfx, and music properly.

Kinda like how neighbors hate 4 strokes more than they did two strokes.

EDIT: This is why Edward Furlong was riding an XR and it was mixed with a 2 stroke. Trust me, Cameron knows the difference and he hated doing it, but four stroke farts and sound mixes don't work.

So thanks to this thread and boredom i gave the movie a go.

Yeah the chain cleaning was overdone and walking into a shop to cash and carry A kit suspension is a little silly but the movie wasn't actually as bad as i expected.

If they would just fix their visors, goggles, and even my chic goes....they don't even have tear offs it would have been a little better. It was corny but what the hell I watched it anyway.

Like others, after seeing this thread I used this to pass some stay at home time. Wasn't too bad, the wife was easy to look at, and not some over the top socal moto chick...worth the watch!

My wife watched the first half of the movie and hated the pre-race over controlling version on that chick lol.

The visor being in goon position didn’t help any.
Ha!!!! That was the first thing my son pointed out!!! He said "You can tell the pros from the actors immediately because the pros all have their visors way up and the actors all have them down over their eyes."

He also said, "I keep waiting for 'Bennett' [makes the little finger quotes in the air] to do a heel clicker over the finish line." LOL.

First thing my wife said “how come you don’t clean your chain that much”? I did find it to be a fun movie to watch even with some of the cheese.
