I'd bet he wouldn't. He knows how nostalgic mx fans are. Going out with a new 350sx 2 stroke from KTM, would get more likes than Eli winning every race. Plus, if it was a better bike, and he won on it. Game over. Thus, won't happen via the black helicopters...

A 350 2 stroke would have everything a 450f has, plus lighter and no engine braking weight feeling. A 450f doesn't have any advantage. No extra low end, no extra smoothness, nothing. 2 stroke would cut right underneath a 450f, then power away.

- electric start
- electronic "trickery" to move power around (and for launch control)
- hundreds of hours of testing for a solid SX base setting
- no bogging
You guys clearly haven't rode a fuel injected 300 bike, then add 50cc. So, you get smooth power for slick tracks, you get electric start, no bogging. Keep trying to make 4 strokes something that can't be done on anything else. 350 current 2 stroke would be better. Not that you'd need it, but you'd also be able to have all the electronic "trickery"
Correct on testing, sure. It would be new, like Henry's 400 was.

Put the Kool Aid down mate.

A 2 stroke, of any capacity, isn't helping him win against a career-prime Tomac, Roczen, Webb etc on fully dialed factory 450s.

Holeshot and lead a lap or 2, maybe, but that's 100% skill and 0% bike choice.
I'll probably tend to agree on that, yet mud, or something like a pileup could make me say, "don't say never."
A 350 2 stroke could be better or worse on the start. Hard to say. That may not be rider, if it's easier on 1 bike or another. I know my 150 pulled 250f's for about 3 gears, then they just drove past me.

It's the only brand left out of the big 6 he hasn't qualified for a main event with.
I’m Putting it out there. He pulls a top 5 in those last 7 rounds on a ktm 450: ....

The only way Chad rides a two-stroke in the main event is if Feld just pre-seeds the top 22 in points and there are no qualifying or heat races.

Then I give it a 2% chance he rides a two-stroke.

Considering the 300xc is the same frame (other than kickstand mount) as the 250sx I'd say it wouldn't be that hard to make a TPI 300sx.

I was only saying that because there was a hint about him riding one. Obviously any rider would be a fool to ride one in Pro racing, because it is a guaranteed fail with the current rules.

Okay, a little over the top on my reply. But heck, most of the thread is about Chad and his 2-stroke, and racing it.

They (DC and FELD) likely don’t have much control over it as the AMA is the one who makes the rules.

I don’t know why whenever something like this is brought up people like to act as if there is a conscious effort from the promoters to stop it. It’s just part of the damn rules, something the promoters have no control over.

NOT saying he'd do as well on a 2-stroke but my personal 250 2-smoke doesn't even bog and it's tuned by me/ridden by me. He's already finishing far back, I bet he'd still qualify on a 2smoke if I had to guess.

If they would let him line up with something more fair, he'd qualify. Say a 300 modded sx... You know, give the magical 1 year homo 4 choke rule.

By the way, still stand by the point. A 350 current 2 stroke would never be touched again by any size 4 stroke.
He wouldnt be able to qualify on any 2 stroke....not even Webb's factory built KTM300sx....I'm sorry but it's a reality. Post qualifying race interviews would have a bevy of reasons highlighted by "if I had more time to test and develop the bike"
"There were parts I asked for but couldnt get"

I feel like sometimes he psychs himself out analyzing every minor detail as hes gotten older rather than just shutting off the thoughts analyzing the bike like "if I had this I'd be better, more competitive and more comfortable" mentality and just ride the bike like hes at a practice track having fun.

That being said. It would be cool seeing a magazine test of Webbs 300sx vs his 450sxf in a sx track. Just to hear what benefits each would have over one another. If everyone thinks Chad can't qualify, why won't the powers that be, give him the option? What would it really hurt, letting 300cc in? If it's so slow, what's the problem?

I'd bet he wouldn't. He knows how nostalgic mx fans are. Going out with a new 350sx 2 stroke from KTM, would get more likes than Eli winning every race. Plus, if it was a better bike, and he won on it. Game over. Thus, won't happen via the black helicopters...

A 350 2 stroke would have everything a 450f has, plus lighter and no engine braking weight feeling. A 450f doesn't have any advantage. No extra low end, no extra smoothness, nothing. 2 stroke would cut right underneath a 450f, then power away.
