Video on Instagram of him on a supercross track yesterday saying he's looking forward to getting back out there. He's also not on a Honda anymore. Looks like he didn't just buy a KTM 2 stroke.

Edit, I can't link it. Work had it blocked.

He bought the Hondas. No support from them.

Mountain Motorsports carries Honda and KTM at some of their dealerships.

I'll let you guys do the math on how he obtained his new bikes. Doubt he's getting actual support from any of the brands other than maybe some of the trick parts we humans can't get. haha I'm sure with Reed's history, it's pretty easy for him to get the un-obtainium parts.

Reed said in the IG comments section that he would not race the 2T in SX.

If they would let him line up with something more fair, he'd qualify. Say a 300 modded sx... You know, give the magical 1 year homo 4 choke rule.

By the way, still stand by the point. A 350 current 2 stroke would never be touched again by any size 4 stroke.

Sure it would. They'd make it race against 700cc four strokes. Sad

Too big and heavy. Think 450, maybe 500cc is the biggest they could get away with in a 4 stroke.

It's the only brand left out of the big 6 he hasn't qualified for a main event with.

They need to let Chad ride a 300 2s or 350. I know, old argument, but still...

But They (DC, Feld, etc) would fight this until their dying breath

How about we let the riders decide. 350 2 stroke vs any size 4 stroke, 1 year rule... Hell, it's the end of the world anyways 😉

I'd bet he wouldn't. He knows how nostalgic mx fans are. Going out with a new 350sx 2 stroke from KTM, would get more likes than Eli winning every race. Plus, if it was a better bike, and he won on it. Game over. Thus, won't happen via the black helicopters...

A 350 2 stroke would have everything a 450f has, plus lighter and no engine braking weight feeling. A 450f doesn't have any advantage. No extra low end, no extra smoothness, nothing. 2 stroke would cut right underneath a 450f, then power away.

A guy who has to go to the LCQ on a 450 is not making the main on ANY size two-stroke. Especially on super hardpack and slick Arizona dirt.

Few things the 450f would still have...

- electric start
- electronic "trickery" to move power around (and for launch control)
- hundreds of hours of testing for a solid SX base setting
- no bogging

Facts as we know them.
1. He is not going to be the Champ.
2. This is his last year racing.
3. He would gain a lot of respect and it would be very memorable if he did decent in a main and he would gain many new fans on his way out. Just hearing him on TV ripping around on a two stroke would be great and the announcers ( I use that term loosely) would probably bring light to this debate..

If I was Chad this would be a no brainer. At least a few rounds. I guess this could apply to any racer not chasing the plate in real contention. A lot of us like 2 strokes. Fact.

Put the Kool Aid down mate.

A 2 stroke, of any capacity, isn't helping him win against a career-prime Tomac, Roczen, Webb etc on fully dialed factory 450s.

Holeshot and lead a lap or 2, maybe, but that's 100% skill and 0% bike choice.
