Well, that’s relative to what is important to you.

Will they make you faster? Maybe a little, but probably not. A fresh set of tires will drop lap times quicker.

Let’s say you have all the important stuff squared away. A fresh engine, new tires, fresh suspension (sprung/valved for you)... and now you have some extra cash to spend to drop that few milliseconds off your lap times.. I say go for it!

I had them and I noticed zero difference but I really liked the look of them.

I had them on a 17CRF450. For me, they helped the chassis be a little more forgiving, if that makes sense. And I felt like there was less fiddling on different tracks to feel comfortable.

Also look at it from a skill set view, a novice/beginner probably isn’t going to notice a difference. I doubt I would notice a difference but a skilled expert or pro probably would notice a difference. I’ve never used them so I can’t say, but if it’s in your budget and want to try them...go for it, won’t hurt to at least try them out.

yeah all this shit with "flex" characteristics is beyond me. Im skilled enough now to take note of what my suspension is doing and how to adjust it. When people say "chassis flex" and shit in bike reviews i have zero idea what theyre talking about. Especially when they change out stock motor mounts for titanium and talk about the difference, im just like ........yep.

Well I thought the same as you, I had an '18 Honda crf450 and back to back tested different motor mounts and torque settings on the swingarm and motor mounts bolts and I did feel a difference. But that bike was rigid and it was on a choppy square edge hard pack track.

I did really feel the effects of them on softer dirt.

This was the same bike I had xtrigs one and I didn't notice any difference in those. I also didn't back to back test on the same day with the stock ones either.

I'm usually too focused on the guy in front of me, or behind me, or line choice, or how good I look in my new "kit". Unfortunately there's not enough time in the 5 lap motos I race to tell a difference. This is why I'm not a pro or a test rider

We are know the modern motors are good, however, when it comes to chassis and suspension that where it is. Chassise Flexibility and getting it right equates to better comfort and confidence at speed. Keep in mind a poor setup will rob you of engery and small thing like including Xtrigg, lower torque specs etc equate to a better right.

For sure its a black art and rider need to test test and test to find that sweet base setting. Things are everv evolving on one needs to be on top of it.

This is what I’m referring to. I’m not sure about this though. I think the OEM clamps could’ve been tightened a little different to prevent that binding. Maybe I’m wrong though.

For the bottom ones, like in the video above, they’re supposed to be 12nm. I’ll set my wrench to a low enough number that it’s not possible to bind. For me, I start at 8nm, and then torque the other. I’ll then set the wrench to 9 and do both, go up another 1nm, and so on until I finish it at 12. For the top clamp I’ll start at 11 or 13, then go to 15, and then finish it off at 17nm. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, I don’t know. Takes an extra minute, but to me, that seems to be the most surefire way. Please correct me if I’m doing it wrong or overthinking it.

Remember when KROC was struggling with his rmz setup - then he switched back to the stock triple clamps and no one could touch him.

I believe if you ride a wide variety of tracks fast and slow and you’re mechanically inclined to change to offset they will be worth it.

So... I kinda let this post go a little...

I've had different triple clamps on numerous bikes before.. I guess you could call me a washed up vet A rider with a horrible need for carpal tunnel surgery, but no right time to do it. I wish I would've done it before this covid shit happened.

I was more less trying to get input on the difference in forgiveness due to my hands. I don't have a huge wad burning a hole in my pocket, but if they'd help, I'd consider. They would be going on my 17 crf..

Plus they look sweet..

Clutch cover makes a big difference too. Replace them both for 2 seconds a lap.

I'd say I do notice the phds bar mounts help with vibration. If you were looking to reduce impact shock I'd be looking into the neken air clamps and fat bars.

Thanks guys, will look into the phds set up or neken top clamps. I'm already running a fat bar for tte extra flex, always have actually..

I had them on a race quad i had back in the day (it was actually for my wife, but I had fun on it) and they were awesome on that, but I felt like there would be too much of a loss in feel for on my bike.. if that makes sense..

The phds bar mounts worked good with the soft rubbers. The medium rubbers they come with didn't seem any different than stock Honda set up to me.

If what you're primarily after is more comfort for your carpal tunnel issues, skip the Xtrigs and go with the Neken SFS clamps.

Not at all, they take a lot of the vibration away from the grips, and for me make the forks feel plusher. I notice no movement when I ride.
