I could imagine that some non OEM team may be in question.
Maybe Feld could offer incentive, maybe call it prize money.

The sport may never be the same.
I'd heard of at least one privateer pinging Feld about the possibility of help with travel expense costs back at Indy.

I get that they helped out on the bike side when riders were affected by lime at San Diego. I'm not sure how they're responsible for a global pandemic.

Lessee here:
NFL football has started by September. And the only non-NFL stadiums left on the schedule were Utah and Vegas.

They aren't contracted to any big sports team, and they would literally throw the stadium at FELD for the chance to get some food and parking revenue.

I'd guess they already did...which is why we were there for the second round of the season.

I'm not sure they'd want to go back there during a condensed portion of the season.

If they're going to be spectator free, they could pretty much do it anywhere, even the roundy-round track at GH they use for truck racing

Enough banners and tough blocks and stands for the cameras, it can be done in a walmart parking lot

So no mx sim or iRacing like Nascar for the racers?
A little non moto

But the Supercar series here in Aus have just announced a 20 week virtual racing series, involving all drivers from the series and it will be aired live on TV in Australia, actually on Foxsports and Kayo.

We need someone to develop a life like simulator for SX!

Hahaha, and so true.

To the crowd thing, if things get relaxed enough for people to gather in numbers sufficient to supporting the actual race and tv crew, medical crew, etc... I'm sure they will be able to sell tickets.

I believe these two things actually are married at this point.

That's why there has been discussion of having the races on Friday nights.

Some people will find a reason to blame Feld for this mess.

Well I’d like a return to when SX and MX series overlapped.
The teams don't.

I said what I’d like. Also i liked when the champ of both got the blue plate and gold number IIRC. I also liked when the road racing and dirt track pros competed in both and had a grand national type championship.

Holeshot?

Seriously though. Gonna be tough schedule on the riders...wonder how they will feel about it.
Does anybody give a shit about riders?! Riders don't like the 18 weeks/17 races - one off weekend - Outdoors either. But nobody seems to care. Everything gets decided above their heads. Racing supercross in September and October ... Racing MXGP till late November...

I know this are unusual circumstances but a little communication please...

These are extraordinary times. Everyone is going to make sacrifices and compromises along the way. There have been worse catastrophes than having to race more often than some would deem convenient. Of all of the problems this sport will face over the next year, I think too much racing will be near the bottom of the list.

Essentially straight from outdoors back into SX, with the top 2 separated by 3 points? Wow talk about a potential shake up. SX to MX in a 2 week turn around is obviously the norm and a little easier to adapt, but if the MX series happens to come down to the wire also, it will be interesting to see how teams balance their prep during the week, going from full tilt outdoors with outdoor settings, to getting riders ready for SX once again, only to go racing outdoors again on the weekend.

Potential for injury surely escalates, however there appears no other viable options besides writing SX off. That's if this even eventuates.

I dont know about potential for injuries to escalate, a lot of injuries happen in the 'off season'

I just don't see how making these guys go full outdoor mode for a potential full outdoor season to then turning around and wrapping up their 3 point difference supercross championship that they had to leave on hold for 5-6 months will work. I don't want to see this sx championship end right now either but imagine the stress on the current top 4 in points racing outdoors knowing it will decide their outdoors title and previous supercross title chances if something happens during outdoors.

something could happen between rounds for Supercross that cause injuries or ends of seasons...as we see each year. I just want these guys to race as I am sure they do too, if they have a different season than pervious ones then so be it, it is the same risk for everyone

Agreed. I'm wondering how some are saying there's going to be too much racing. We are most likely not going to be racing for a stint of 3 1/2 months minimum till this is said and done. Sure, they're going to cram in as much as they key given the opportunity, but there's going to be 3 or 4 less races minimum in the calendar year compared to normal.
