I picked up this peach the end of January and started the process to bring it back to life. At that time there were maybe 8 or ten cases of the virus in the US, but I needed a project. You know the saying "idle hands are the devils workshop!"

This 1971 model has some issues in 2001. Now in 2020 just doing some light maintenance on the bearings to keep it running smooth.

Thanks to Access Sports Medicine for all the work.

This 1969 model has a very similar x-ray from a little get off back in 96'. All is working fine but feels like its time to grease the linage. What recent maintenance have you done exactly and how did you know it was time??

I have a 1987 Suzuki RM 125 and I was wondering what other years are compatible for the crankshaft? The rod has TONS of side to side play and I blamed it on a bad rod bearing but the crank has a lot of rust and pitting from sitting in water, so I may get a new crankshaft. I added a few other problems that were addressed such as a destroyed main bearing, cylinder head, and piston.

I was in the shop anyway for a shoulder issue. While there I thought it would be a good idea to check the hardware. Upon seeing the X-ray my guy thought it was weird I wasn’t complaining about any pain. That stuck with me over the next few days and I realized I actually was in pain, quite a bit actually. It had just been for so long that I had tuned it out. Then I got the MRI after some PT confirming both menisci were in rough shape. So this surgery was just to repair those and clean up any chondromalacia.

If your X-ray looks like mine, and it’s been a while. For sure worth going in for a check up. My surgery was Friday, and I am more comfortable today than I was pre surgery.

Since 86 CR250 restorations are about as prevalent as store bought titties in Hollywood-- I'll spare you all the gory details and bolt by bolt therapy I've been enjoying this winter. After untold hours, beer and $$ it is coming along but at a standstill now anxiously awaiting my cylinder to come back from Millennium. Ready for the virus all clear and some summer weather to see how it works..

Is that tank new? If not, how did you restore it to look like that?

I'll start.... 2013 crf250. Relatively low hours but PO lost lower con-rod bearing. Cylinder and bottom of piston dinged up. Purchased it for $1500 and figure around $1000 for OEM parts and other replacement pieces to make it nice.

i have a ton of parts for that bike, head, twin air external oil cooler, rad braces etc.

That's the same tank and shrouds as the original shots of the "peach" pre-surgery. I invested about 6 hours wet sanding the tank and a couple more on the shrouds. Started with 320 and ended up with 2000. Buffed with a dry wool bonnet. It came out better than I expected.

I've had the CT110 for about 6 years but it took me practically that long to find a nice unmolested one with a title! I try to make a beer run on it every month or so to keep it healthy. My dad had a '67 when I was a kid and that's when I got the bug.

Got my shop in workable order. When I have money, help, and time to put walls in and build a bigger bench it will all have to come back out.
