Why is it so loud? It’s literally the only bike you can hear. But when he’s going through whoops or something it’s loud. Can hear it over other bikes. Has this been talked about before?

I noticed this at A1, A2, and San Diego when i was there. Its the shock that squeaks. Every time he goes through the whoops, his bike sounds like squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak.

I asked him about it at San Diego and he shrugged and said "I dunno, but its normal"

I highly doubt that it is the shock, more than likely the rear brake. I'm assuming that he uses some pads that have a high quantity of metal so they grab harder. Since the pads are always in contact with the rotor it's like a record player if you get some resonance going. My Mountain bike is pretty bad about squeaking like that.

The first moto last night I didn’t hear his bike squeaking much, but it looked like complete dog shit in the whoops. Second moto it looked waaaayy better.

I had to back it up for my son who’s 10 and re watch that turn a couple times. Unless you ride/race it’s truly hard to appreciate what these guys do. So many times we ask “how?” and just laugh and shake our heads!

Hands sown the best turn of the day was JMart in the last practice. I don’t think I have ever seen someone hit a turn that hard. He a absolutely murdered the 180 before the whoops. Even Daniel Blair stops his comments and laughs and just say “oh my”

I find that hard to believe. Not saying it isn't possible but could you imagine trying to feather the rear brake on top of the bucking the bike is taking through the whoops? These guys are good, but there's no way you could do that lap after lap without having a terrible result at some point. Plus, I'm pretty sure Tomac doesn't even use brakes.

What about a dry metal spacer being slightly rotated by the rear suspension spring as it works sqeaking?

Now that the Pope smoke has gone maybe Eli wants some other obvious, harmless idiosyncrasy to bug people?
